There were a few things he could do better. He was a little nervous. I think he went into the game thinking he had to win game himself, but I think he's got that behind him. |
There were so many things with a young squad that we wanted to get done. We didn't get as many things done as I would like to have gotten done in some areas. |
There's nothing we can do specifically... because you don't know what they're going to do. They may change their whole return scheme. We're just going to have to be alert, play with the better people, get our kids aware of the fact that Ginn... he's a great, great football player... a one-play guy that can turn the game around... We're going to try and do a good job, making sure he can't hurt us, but whether we can do that or not, we'll have to see. |
there's potential to be good. |
They appear to be a little bigger and stronger than us physically across the board, ... This is one of the best teams that you'll ever see; not just this year, but in all the years I've been coaching. |
They appear to be a little bit stronger than we are physically across the board, ... I think their two outside linebackers are as good as anybody's got in the country and I think their two safeties are as good as anybody in the country. In that sense, we're probably comparable. They scheme a little differently; they're a much more blitz team they are. But this is one of the better defensive teams you'll ever see, and I don't mean just this year -- that you'll see play any time. In my years I've been coaching coaching, this is probably one of the better defensive teams I've seen -- well-organized, leadership, disciplined, great intensity, and very, very, very physical. If we're comparable to those, I'd feel very good. |
They do the things they have to do. They kick the ball well. They hang on to the football. They don't make it easy for you. They're adaptable. I think that's the sign of a good football team. |
They have a great tailback, ... Last year they had two great tailbacks. They make up their minds they are going to run and intimidate you. When your offense (goes for over 550) yards against a team like Purdue, they are a heck of an offensive football team. |

They have most of them back, so I think they'll be a lot better. Now they're having trouble with their safety, one of their better players, who's been hurt. But they run real well. Really well, I guess, would be correct grammar. They'll give us a lot of problems. |
They may be as good a front four as there is in the country. |
They respect him not only because he's a good football player, but for the kind of person he is. In that sense, he's had a very positive impact. |
They said they were putting two seconds back on the clock. I said, 'Ah, baloney' and they walked away from me. ... Right now, all I am is [angry]. |
They took it. Nobody pouted. The captains got them together and all's well that ends well. |
They're in the Big East now. They're in a different level, and I think they're going to be a very difficult opener for us. |
