(The) four-volume set is the largest project of its kind done up until its time.

Ever since Fahrenheit 9/11 , I think we've been seeing there's a real audience for movies with political agendas. I don't know how many people are showing up because they want to hear political messages, but they're certainly more open to hearing them.

Here we have a movie about a guy who wears a mask the whole picture, with controversial subjects, some hot-button issues. Not the standard-fare movie, and we did a strong opening and attracted a huge amount of people.

I don't claim to know how to sell anything. I'm a geek.

I had worked with him back in '83 on 'Weird Science,' ... and we had a great rapport. But then I saw him, I don't know, five years ago at a restaurant where he was completely out of it and rude, and I thought, 'That guy is gone.'

I'm not afraid of action pictures,

I'm sitting here at my office at Warner Bros. And I'm looking at big buildings and soundstages and all the things you need to make a movie, but what do I have to do? There used to be a lot of divisiveness. In past managements it was sometimes very hard to get things done. Now these guys are just fantastic and they make it an incredible place.

Invasion gives Nicole an opportunity to bring her depth and range to the kind of gritty action role that we haven't see her play before, as Oliver infuses the film with the brand of provocative, character-driven storytelling he's known for.

It was like a 1930s comic book set in the future. I can't say what it was, but there was something about it that made me think it would work as a movie.

It's a cautionary tale. V says people should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people. That is the essence of the story.

It's an odd little movie. We weren't sure who would show up.
