If you don't have that feeling, something's wrong. Every single guy in here wants that job as badly as I do. It's up to me to work hard, win that job and make the most of it.

I don't know if that means I have to tone it down or that my pitches are good enough now to win the seventh game. You know what? I am getting ready for the seventh game of the World Series. Really, I want to win it in four.

Four up, four down. Hopefully, I won't have to do that during the regular season.

My back was a little stiff coming in, but I only threw one bad pitch - on the triple. It was belly-button high. I loosened up by the end of the inning and had my slider and fastball working. I was basically just throwing to the glove at that point.

I think I may have to warm up earlier next time. Actually, the clock in the clubhouse was eight minutes slow and I got to the bullpen a little late. I'll be ready next time.

Last year was a little confusing because I wasn't sure if I would be a starter in Triple-A or a reliever in the big leagues. I think I'm more efficient this spring because I'm just starting. I've always been a starter up until last season.

You get a little more leeway pitching in these 'B' games. You feel like you get to work on things a little bit more. I threw a couple of changeups in situations that I wouldn't have, but it is really good right now for me to throw them and get used to that, to get a feel with that.

I definitely prefer starting. I loved being in the bullpen last year. It was great for my career, great for my experience, great for my arm strength. It is just completely different having to get ready right now and go out there and throw pretty much as hard as you can or bring your best stuff right now as a reliever. They were throwing me in there when we were up by seven or down by seven. It was a situation where there was very little pressure on me. It did a lot for my confidence. They really eased me in correctly, I think.

I probably could have used it more, but it's a work in progress and I don't want to get beat with my fourth-best pitch. But it looks like it's coming on, and I can use it more as the season goes along.

I made some good pitches. I struck out [Vladimir Guerrero] twice, and the one hit he got was on a pitch five inches outside and off his ankles. It was just a series of unfortunate events. I think I'm right where I need to be. I feel good and I'm hitting my spots. I think things will turn around fast.

I felt the most calm and in control than I've ever felt on a major league mound. I know I belong here and I know I can beat anybody. I felt like I could put it anywhere. I felt confident.

This was very satisfying for me. We won, we won the series and I went seven innings, allowing one run.

I got a few pitches up, and I don't think I was as aggressive as I usually am. I tried hitting spots too much instead of just trusting my stuff and letting it work for me. I don't know, it was just one of those nights.

You don't want to make excuses, but yeah -- I still thought I could get it done. I didn't feel nearly as bad as I do now.

I got ahead of hitters and my stuff looked a little sharper tonight. I attacked the strike zone. It's very nice to get first win.
