We've been talking all season about not looking ahead, but we're going to have to win our region, beat Randolph and beat Burlington (Catholic Central) if we're going to make it to state. We're going to go after Randolph with an attitude of winning. They haven't lost a playoff game in four years, they're bound to lose one sometime. It would be great if we were the ones to do it.

That first half we moved the ball so well. We were getting good looks, but didn't shoot very well. We always had one perimeter guy wide open.

Matt (Moses) is the hardest worker I have coached in my 17 years. He can do it all, shoot, pass, rebound and defend. He is such and unselfish player, almost to a fault. I have had to beg him to shoot on a daily basis.

This was our best defensive game of the season. Mike St. Mary, our JV coach, one of our assistants and I were well prepared. We had a number of games we had scouted and we were able to take them out of a number of things they ran.

That's what we try to do. We need to deflect the ball and steal the ball into easy hoops and in the second half we did a better job than that.

He doesn't take bad shots, he doesn't force shots, and at times he passes maybe too quick. He had a nice floor game again, too.

Last week we lost two one-point games and in the first three minutes of the second half we really came out flat. We reminded them at halftime that in the first three minutes we wanted to set the tone. Well, we didn't set the tone. Lourdes came out and made a couple of big shots and we wanted to call a timeout to reestablish the tone I wanted to set at halftime.

It seemed like every time they would get within four or five, Mitch would hit a big shot and extend it to seven or eight. He's feeling more confident. We've known all season he can shoot the ball. The last two weeks, he's been steady in double digits. I think he's had double digits in four of our last six games.

We've seen everybody in our region play and we can beat everybody in our region.

We talked about the last key of the game ... the fifth key was playoff mentality. 64 teams in Division 4 played one game, so they are one-and-done. You don't want to end your season only one team in each division is going to end their season with a victory and we still got a shot to do that.

We haven't pressed in a couple of weeks. We're not a great defensive team, but we get after it. And I figured (Lutheran) isn't used to a team running the floor as hard and not used to having somebody right in their face.

I thought we played real solid throughout. We were the No. 3 seed and they were the No. 6, so theoretically we're supposed to win and I'm pretty happy with the outcome and the way we played.

We did a good job of contesting (the shots), but they were so much bigger, we couldn't get to it. Once (the ball) got down to waist level, we had the possession arrow. When it got down on the floor our football guys recovered the fumble.

We wanted to put a lot of pressure on the ball. Their size is their strength. We didn't always get the turnover, but they didn't always get comfortable in their offense.
