I really like this young quarterback (Kyle Orton). He's very efficient. The speed of the game doesn't bother him. He'll play better than what people think he will as a rookie. He's better than (Rex) Grossman. I would fear Orton a little bit. He's better than Drew Brees who came out of there (Purdue). |
I saw the blitz coming. I saw the 1-on-1 over there. I wanted to give Justin a chance, but I just left the ball inside a little too much. It's tough when you know you're only playing a little bit; you try so hard to make something happen. |
I shouldn't have thrown it. I should have checked it down, especially when we were in field goal position. On first-and-10, I've got to just take my check down on that. |
I think I played real solid, ... Maybe only two passes I'd like to have back. And that's pretty good when you're playing a full football game. I made good decisions. I thought I got the ball out of my hands quick and really knew the situations I was in. |
I think our offense is making strides, |
I think that's my strength coming from Purdue. We threw the ball to a lot of different guys, we had a lot of different options with every single play. I think that's one of my strengths, is to be able to see the field, see who's coming, see who's blitzing and where the holes are going to be. |
I think we're hitting our stride. |
I thought we did a real good job playing the field position battle. We're still in the lead in the division and now we're going to Detroit. |
I told everyone, 'Thanks for coming. I turned [the TV] off and went upstairs and just kind of hung by myself. It was certainly humbling, and it wasn't like there were no quarterbacks coming off the board. |
I want the best player out there who gives the team the best chance to win. If it's me, then great. Hopefully we win a lot of games. If it's Chad, great for him. Hopefully, we can win a lot of games that way. ...They're going to make the best decision for the team. |
I was happy. I wasn't surprised, kind of thought it was going to happen. |

I was ready to go. In saying that, you're not going to be where you'd like to be development-wise, but the best way to become better is to play. |
I was ticked off. That one was on me. I wanted to get back on the field and make up for it. We did. |
I'd like to make teams pay for not taking me. Maybe that will fade eventually, but for now, it still stings. |
