In the end, a title is what goes on someone's business card. It speaks very little to their abilities. What could be a manager in one company could be a director in another. An executive assistant in one company could be a receptionist in another. But responsibility is responsibility. That's what people can be accounted on and compensated for. |
It's in an organization's best interest to pay their employees fairly. It keeps them there, and it keeps them happy. |
There have not been drastic jumps (in wages) like we saw in the late '90s, but certainly there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I think we'll see that slow and steady continuous increase in wages in the 4 to 8 percent range. |
