It's really been a roller-coaster ride this week. After an exciting win over Brevard last Saturday, and then to drop an important conference game to Robbinsville on Tuesday, it was really important to come out and play well tonight. |
Last year, he was our third-leading scorer. His freshman and sophomore years he was our leading scorer. Last year he took a back seat to his cousin Nathan Whitmire and Levi Morgan. With Levi in the post we moved him out to the wing a little. |
Shane has been our horse all year long, everything we run goes through him. At times, we have used Shane at all five positions out on the floor. He's just so fundamentally sound and versatile wherever you put him. |
This year he played all five positions at one time or another. He's just a tremendous 1-A basketball player. He's versatile. He can finish around the basket and handle the ball. He's as fundamentally sound a player as I've ever coached. |
We played a pretty sloppy ball game tonight. Fortunately, we had the desire to not give up and held on for the win. |
