Flavio understands business and he understands how to motivate people. |
He understands the business of Formula One, he's a wheeler-dealer -- and a lot of people are in this pit lane -- but Flavio is good at it. He built the team, he went out and got people. He's not just all mouth. |
I am very pleased for Flavio, |
It can't help but have some effect. |
It can't help but have some effect. But at the end of the day you have to be master of your own destiny, not looking at what everyone else is doing...if the others drop the ball, well and good, but ultimately you can't rely on that. You've got to design a car that's quicker than theirs. |
It is a challenging place to start the year because the circuit is probably the hardest for brakes of the whole season. The circuit is surrounded by sand and it can also get very hot, which can pose problems with the cooling of a new car. So reliability will be key, especially with this year's switch to (2,4-litre) V8 engines. |

It's not the best thing, having a driver who is already committed to another team. I know Fernando, he's a very professional and very nice guy, but its not the same as having a driver whose committed to you for the next two or three years. |
Obviously it is the end of an era but nobody can dispute that Toyota has made a big step forward over the last two seasons. |
That meant we were able to get on and evaluate the car properly. We initially planned to test the car for only one day but we lengthened that to the entire test, and the results were very positive. |
The top step of the podium must be our aim for tomorrow. |
We feel that the concept of holding a new car launch at the beginning of each year, just for the sake of it, is outdated. |
We had a very successful test with the TF105B, which features a different front suspension from the TF105, ... We had a problem with the power steering at the previous test, but here at Silverstone we were able to eradicate it. |
We have now reached a crossroads in our working relationship and I believe that it is the right time for us to part ways amicably and for me to move back to the UK where I can also enjoy spending more time with my family. |
