Three teams in it, two make it and one will miss it. Every game is like a playoff game. It's going to be as big as if it were a seven-game series.

Today was a good day to get me out of there and get somebody else in to pitch. Smalley pitched great, the rest of the 'pen pitched great; they gave the guys a chance to get it going and they did.

We all knew some things would change during the course of the season, but this was pretty big. This was a lot. To have people that didn't start with us playing such critical roles now tells you a lot. They're right in the middle of it. We've done a lot of things and it's pretty clear that we wouldn't be standing where we are right now if it wasn't for all those moves.

Whatever they want to do. Today was an obvious circumstance where I didn't need to throw another inning this early in the season. Later in the year, depending on pitches and stuff, the situation may be different.

When you go on out there in March, you don't really know what's going to happen. Your body is not used to doing this. I'm happy with the way I threw the ball today.

When you have a big layoff, it's tough to go right back out there and be consistent with your command, ... When you don't pitch in a while it leaves you in a hurry.
