He's not afraid. He does a lot of things, and I think just his nature lets him diffuse pressure, not only on himself but his players. I think that's the reason why they perform well in any environment. He's enough of a taskmaster to make sure things are done properly, but he has a lot of freelance in him, which makes his club dangerous. |
He's OK ---- it just nicked him. |
He's pitched some good baseball against us, but that was probably the best game he's pitched against us. When his fastball was off he got his breaking ball over. |
He's ready for the challenge. He was fun to be around (in camp). He was able to see how the pitcher/catcher relationship worked. |
He's throwing the ball as well as we've seen him. |
His ability to adjust, not only from one game to another but to get back on track after a bad inning, has been remarkable. |
His ability to play a number of positions and play them well is why we are very, very comfortable to move him around and use him where we need to. |
His ability to turn his fastball into three different looks is really the key to what he does on the mound. To combine the velocity with the command that he has is a unique package. It puts him in an elite group. |
His bat speed looks terrific. The ball jumps off his bat. The challenge is in front of him. What remains to be seen is what happens in games. Does he have the ability to still get around on a 95 mph fastball? |
His batting practice looks good, the ball looks good coming off his bat. He just hasn't squared them up like he can. ... He hit a ball in Chicago the wind blew back in the park. He hit some other balls hard. He's just a click off. |
His batting practice looks good. His just not hitting the ball square. |
His fastball command was a little erratic, but the command on his offspeed pitches was there, and his velocity was good. He got his work in. It did not set him back. |
His fastball command was a little erratic, but the velocity was good. |
His groin got a little bit tight. That'll be day to day. |
His initial reaction after rehab was, 'Hey, wherever you need me, whenever you need me, I'm going to help us win,' |
