He just told me not to put any undue pressure on myself. He said if I just relaxed and played my game, the big plays would come.
I feel like my game has improved tremendously on the mental side of things this spring. I've had a lot of people tell me that I have the physical potential to play at this level, but it's about getting mentally where you need to be. I'm excited about my progression.
I've done better than I actually thought I was going to. In the beginning of spring practice, I was lost. The mental part, it's just a lot faster. ... I was on the field just out there. I didn't have a purpose; I wasn't making that much of an impact. Now I think I've gotten a lot better.
It's a game to some. They like the attention. They like the official visits.
It's almost like building my résumé.
My goal is to be a starter that first game. Whether it happens or doesn't happen ... I'm going to keep playing and let my play speak for me and make a case for me to start playing against Miami on Sept. 4.
My recruiting process was very intense, and very interesting. It was intense because it started the summer of my sophomore year.
