It's always a concern as a rookie. It's usually based on the individual. Kirk's got a lot of energy, so I just like the way he's going now.

He sees himself as a tailback. We're going to give him every opportunity to play tailback and see what he does best. We have a bunch of guys who see themselves as the starting tailback. When you have that kind of competition, it gives you the opportunity to come up with a featured runner. That's our goal.

You really don't know. You go into games and I'm not sure you know what to expect. I know when we were getting ready to play (Kansas City) last time everybody thought it would be a shootout, a real high-scoring game. And both defenses played at a real high level.

Our guys have not backed off. In the fourth quarter, they're hitting, tackling, pounding in there. Zack's fighting and it means a lot to me to see them continue to compete that way. I imagine based on readings I'm getting and the feeling I'm getting, there's people interested in me being an offensive coordinator again, so I'll look into that. I wouldn't rule anything out, but I do know I want to coach.

Second half, you know, they have an outstanding offense and they had the ball, they made plays, they drove the ball and they stepped it up a notch defensively.

We're playing a lot of young guys 30 to 50 plays a game. Kirk Morrison is one of those guys. Sometimes when you play that many young guys, you pay for it. It's cost us in some situations, but it's helping us. We're faster and more athletic. We are improving.

He had some great rushes. He had some big hits on the quarterback when he didn't get sacks and, obviously, he had three sacks. He came close to having a fourth.

Obviously, early it looked easy. It got rough. We did the things we had to do defensively and came up with a big drive in the fourth quarter. (We) had limited possessions in the second half, but came up with a big drive when we had to get a lead we could protect.

I said it early in the year when we were 0-3, we're a lot better football team. This morning I looked at our first Kansas City game. We're two plays away from winning that game. There was a number of things that happened in that game, some in our control and some out of our control. That was certainly a game we could have won. Kansas City won the game, they're 4-3. We lost the game, we're 3-4. That's where this league is a little bit.
