[If the PS3 (set for release in spring 2006) is truly more powerful than this machine, as has been rumored, well, playing games on that unit will be like controlling your friends in the backyard.] The biggest and the best names in publishing are committed to the success of Xbox 360, and looking at the titles we have announced, we are very excited, ... The high-definition era of gaming starts now. |
[MS reportedly has upwards of 2,500 people working on the worldwide 360 launch, and the company will utilize every plane available to ship its product.] We're going to ship all around the world; how we're going to do that, I don't know, ... We're going to rent every 747 we can find. |
A part of me still hurts from that experience. |
Apologies to those of you here [America] and in Europe who haven't been able to find an Xbox 360. |
Certainly as the decades march by, the need becomes more and more to get the numbers, know the numbers, track the trends. |
Eventually we will catch up, who knows when that will be. Demand is just stunning, overwhelming. |
From our point of view the slate is relatively clean, ... We've been in the software business for a quarter of a century. We've got teams that have been together for a long time. These guys salivate over this stuff. They're hardcore gamers. Now they're kind of unleashed. |
I don't think it's wise to bet against Microsoft in anything they do. I know that (CEO Bill) Gates is personally involved in the success of this project, ... My job is to make sure we're not overexposed on one particular platform, but that we are ready when a platform does explode. |
I think the brand is an opportunity. |
I think we've created an incredible piece of hardware. |
I want to give kudos for Nintendo for its attempt at innovation with the new controller, ... bring people in that, as Iwata-san said, are either lapsed gamers or gamers that are intimidated by the complexity of the controller. |
I was looking at which games were selling. I was seeing two in particular: 'Perfect Dark Zero' and 'Ridge Racer' seemed to be going out in every package. PDZ has done very well in the west, particularly the online side. Ridge Racer debuts here today and it looks like a great game. 'Every Party' was probably third, but that's anecdotal. |
I'm calling a $100 million day on 'Halo' today. |
I'm sure the Ballmer boys aren't happy with that because he has to get in line at retail like everybody else. He can come to my house if he needs games to play. |
If the PS3 is so incredibly superior to the Xbox 360 in game quality, game quantity, game breadth, game visuals, depth of the digital entertainment experience and price, God bless them, |
