Even though she was unable to medal at the Regional Championships it was quite an accomplishment for her to make the Regional Team in her first year competing at this level. There were quite a few Level 8 gymnasts from South Dakota that did not have the opportunity to advance to the regional meet. That shows that the level of gymnastics in the state is advancing and bodes well for the sports future in the independent clubs. |
It was great to see Lindsay hit her beam routine in this meet. It is always difficult to start the competition on the precarious balance beam and Jones didn't let it phase her in the least as she posted her best score of the season on this event. |
Our Level 7 team was battling some minor injuries going into this meet. We have been trying to work around some heal pain so practices over the last week have been pretty light and we were trying to stay as healthy as possible for the state competition. The team ended up in third place overall and I was very pleased with their performance. |
This was a rough meet for our Level 8 team. We had our good moments and we had some very trying moments. It is times like this that help these kids to become stronger and more determined to continue working toward their goals. |
This was quite an accomplishment for these two young gymnasts. To put up those big scores in a large invitational like this really showcases the talent of these two young ladies. |
This was where the closeness of the competition was really showcased as every small error made the difference as to how you placed. |
