He's the most intensely competitive person I've ever met in my life. When he walks on the floor, everyone totally understands he knows what he's doing. Viewers will see an intense competition. They'll see that the kids really wanted to be selected. They'll see that it really mattered to the kids. And they'll see that [Knight] really cares about the kids. |
I did the math, and I had 26,000 minutes of footage. And the six episodes come up to slightly [short] of 300 minutes. |
Some words ultimately will be bleeped. There aren't that many. |
The taping went remarkably well. We've been gone the last three months and the post process has been a major undertaking because we've got such good stuff. |
We basically invaded Texas Tech and Lubbock for over two weeks. We came back multiple times and we had 60-plus people there. We were a raging pain in the rear end, and coach and his staff and the university and the city were unbelievable. If there had been issues, we never could've pulled it off. |
We put these kids through a lot. We wanted to test their overall conditioning, but we also wanted to test their mental toughness, how they handle themselves in the community, how they handle themselves with teammates. |
What you'll see is intense competence. [Knight] is a person who knows what he's doing. He really wants to find the right kid for his team. This absolutely mattered to him. |
