Hotels historically have lagged in terms of technology, but they are better at adapting to technology than five or 10 years ago. This whole movement is making the guest experience feel more like being home. |
Pre-1980s, food and beverage was pretty much deemed as a necessary evil at most hotels, and if you broke even, that was good. It was like, we need to have a place to eat. So, we're pretty much going to provide a basic all-purpose restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to our guests; we hope we don't lose money. |
Some hotels are better at disclosing fees than others. Say, 'I know my room is $50 a night, but what else will I be expected to pay for?' That's a valid question. |
