We still have a long way to go, but I'm enthused about our offense. |
We thought that if we had played a perfect game, we could have won. They are a great team. |
We'll spread them out, we'll bunch them up. We'll put three tight ends in or four wides. I think that's something that's going to be hard for a defense to adjust to. |
We're going to try to keep him out until we really need him. |
We've got to have people down there to make sure everything is cleaned up and make sure everything's going to get back running on track, |
When Ben Troupe first came in here, we looked at him as a speedster. We wanted to isolate him on linebackers, isolate him on strong safeties. We're trying to build him up to be a Tony Gonzalez, a Todd Heap, the guys who are not only able to block as well as be able to catch the ball intermediate and also deep. |
When they are playing the cover-two and all of a sudden it's 3rd-and-2 and they play cover-two and they lock you man-to-man with the outside receivers, it forces you to throw the ball inside and forces you to take small yards at a time. We had opportunities to get the ball to the receivers. I think I missed a couple with Brandon Jones. We are doing what the defense is forcing us to do. |
When you first come in, you respect and just want to fit in. Now I've been the leader of the team and one of the oldest guys here, ... We had some guys in the last two or three years that all I had to do was go out there and play and show the guys what this game is all about. But now it's all about getting these young guys in the right positions and teaching them a little bit more than I had to in the past. |
You get a lot of mixed emotion. The sad thing about it is that you get so frustrated because there is not communication. They can't communicate with you, and you can't communicate with them, |
You're going to have hiccups. But it's better to have them now than later. |
