He's a fun, friendly association with the orchestra and classical music. During concerts he takes on the persona of a 3-year-old and asks questions a person in the audience would ask. |
Ultimately the mission is to instill a love of music in children that would continue for the rest of their lives. But it's also a good way to reach the [parents], the 25-to-45 age group, that often disappears from the orchestra because of life responsibilities. |
When a young soloist performs, it inspires children in the audience, and they get more out of it than watching and listening to an adult soloist. Indy was a great choice. He is very genuine and gracious and has a great skill and facility, which is what we are looking for. |
