I gave our athletic director, Matt Stapleton, a wish list to get. From last week's rankings, there were 18 teams we saw last summer or are going to play this fall. Even if we lost all the tough ones, we're still better for the tournament. |
It took us a little time to get used to their speed. I think we were intimidated by their speed. We don't see that -- ever. |
It's tough to give one up. But so far, so good. |
Mallory has height and Townsend has speed. They give us versatility. If we need a big lineup on the floor we go with Mallory. If we need a quick lineup, we go with Townsend. |
They got us the last two years there. We'd go through untouched and our first tough game was our last. |
We know we have a target on our backs. Our schedule will definitely help us. We play three teams that were in the state finals last year - Charlevoix (Class C runner-up), Lansing Christian (Class D champion) and Detroit Country Day (Class B champ). We may not run the table, but we'll be better for it when it counts. |
We played tentative. They were so big and so athletic that we were a little shell-shocked early. |
When it comes time to play (in the postseason), we have to be ready. We can't wait until the last game to get ready. With this schedule we'll have to be sharp every night or some of these teams are going to take it to us. |
