It would have to be a very weak pandemic strain for us to be able to stop it right now. Most likely we wouldn't be completely prepared. |
So we are only computing the probability of any person becoming infected on any given day, and a roll of the dice is needed to decide whether they are infected or not. |
Travel restrictions are likely to be surprisingly ineffective, at best buying a little time (days or at best weeks, but not months) for other interventions to be put into place. |
