We've been working on communication. The day-in and day-out grind of putting so much time and effort out there. To see the fruits of your labor is really gratifying. |
What I recognized after I lost my son was, you know, part of me died when I lost him, ... And I recognized that football not only is therapeutic, but it is also when I'm the most alive. I'm the best husband during football season, a better father, a better person. It fuels all those fires inside of me that keep me going. I'm going to be one of those guys who, after I retire says, 'What do I do now?' I don't have any plans for after football. This is it. |
What was so attractive about this trade was that, unlike other teams who we talked to (Miami and San Francisco), the Browns didn't call and say, 'Hey, we'd love for you to come in and start for a year, and then train whoever we draft,' |
What you try to do is show it. On a third-and-1 bootleg, don't try to throw the 20-yard comeback. You duck your head and get the first down. Play smart. Handle the team the way you're supposed to. Prove your worth with your performance. That speaks so much louder than any words. |
Whatever RAC (Crennel's initials) wants, that's what I'll do. |
When you can cover every finger on your hand with a Super Bowl ring, you've got some respect in my book. |
When you're not playing well as a quarterback, what I've learned is, you can't panic. The challenge with this football team is, when things go bad, people get frustrated. My challenge is not to let that happen. |
Yeah, thanks. Two nice throws. |
You add him, and it's 70 catches, boom, |
You can not throw interceptions, ... I threw two and lost a fumble. We can't afford those types of mistakes. It's tough to win in this league when you turn the ball over. |

You have to have perspective, ... It's never as bad as it seems. |
You're a different offense with him, because he can stretch the middle of the field vertically. He's a guy who can get open anywhere in the middle of the field. He gets open between the hashes better than any human being I've ever seen. There's a lot of crap that goes on in there between the hashes, and he negotiates that brilliantly. Not many guys can do that. |
