As a gay couple used to living in urban areas like Manhattan and L.A., it's not that big a deal when you introduce your partner. But we didn't know what to expect here. |
During one of the big snows last winter, Barbara had a handful of us over on Friday night, and Saturday we went to David and Eric's for soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. |
They introduced themselves and sort of told us they were OK with us by describing all the diversity in the neighborhood. Rich is Caucasian and his wife is Korean. Then there's Chun Liu, who's Chinese, and his wife Genesis, who's black, as well as a Hispanic family. I describe it as a 'we are the world' block. |
