 I think the responsibility message has been more thorough because they are involved in our sport than if they weren't involved in our sport. And if you think about it, someone was held accountable maybe to a higher degree because they are involved in the marketing of alcohol.

 I think the smartest thing they've done is invest in youth speedway. They run the youth races every week. They've helped the kids, encouraged the kids and they've made a big deal out of it. Now there's about a dozen Division I riders that have gone through that youth program.

 I think the thing fans admire and I admire is the way Gerry plays hard all the time. He knows no other speed than full speed. When he makes a mistake, it's an effort-mistake. Most guys make mistakes because they don't give enough effort. That's never been the case with Gerry.

 I think there's a lot of hidden agendas there. With the revenue sharing and all the money he's getting with the TV revenues, he's making money and they're losing games. Hopefully the Glass family will try to sell the team and get somebody in there that cares and wants to win.

 I think they responded well and now we are looking forward to playing two more games. Any time you can get kids on the floor it's good. Things didn't really go our way early, but they found a way to pick up their defense and did a good job. It was a great day for our program.

 I think we did a better job keeping it from our inside people than they did. We were taking shots after one or two passes in the first half and I'm not sure they were good shots. I'm not sure if they played that good defensively or we played that dumb. That's the bottom line.

 I think we'd probably be the natural team. It would be us or the Dallas Cowboys , and I don't think there's any way Dallas would have given up a home game. They sell out their games and we do not sell out our games. It was easier for us to make that sacrifice, and we made it.

 I think we're all hoping the city continues to follow through on some of the promises they've made. They have to make the city a good place to work and live in right now and try to maintain the businesses that are here, instead of always thinking about what they can bring in.

 I think we've certainly been better (defensively) in the past, but we're going to have to play defense in a little different way now. It's not going to be that grind-it-out, man-to-man style. We're going to change it up, mix some things in, and (Wednesday) our zone helped us.

 I think we've made a huge step toward turning things around, especially since we have such a young team. It lets us know that not only are we competitive, but we have a chance to win a lot of games. That's something that shouldn't change because we have everybody coming back.

 I thought Glen (Simon) did another fantastic job on the mound and really kept us in the game. Jack (Nelson) also gave us a really great performance at the plate. I was pleased that our hitters kept focused at the plate and I thought we played really hard right from the start.

 I thought that made good sense because you can get as accurate a story as possible from somebody who knew and understood hunting and then it would immediately go up to the wires and be posted on the Web site, which is the way it went out and I thought that was the right call.

 I thought the Middle Eastern part [of President Bush's State of the Union speech] was grossly exaggerated, given the percentage they supply. It's hard to pick out one part of the world as being more unstable than another part, especially if you're projecting 20, 25 years out.
