I am thrilled to have Kevin Smith as both an actor in Southland Tales as well as having his involvement in the prequel graphic novels for Southland Tales. The novels will give the die-hard fans more of an understanding of the back-story leading up the film's theatrical release. |
I am very excited about our 2006 schedule. It is important to play a challenging non-conference schedule to prepare us for the rigors of SEC play. This schedule is built to challenge us right away, which will help this young club grow as a team throughout the season and beyond. |
I anticipate it will be three weeks before we get a serious influx of people. We're getting calls asking about relocation ? where there's space to get my business set up. Lots of people have businesses they can operate from a different location. Those will be the first ones up. |
I believe if he had an interest in anybody and would have let them know, I don't think he would have been turned away. He's 6-3, 330 pounds, but he's very athletic and moves like he's 230. With a kid that can run likes he does as big as he is, he could go where he wanted to go. |
I believe the way the game played out at Rutgers really stung them like nothing ever did before. I think there was a tremendous amount of soul searching and really trying to come to grips with who we are and what our strengths are and what our faults are and what we need to do. |
I can't give you a timetable. I'm not going to answer questions during the season. We've had great communication in the past, and we'll continue to have it in the future. Our intention all along has been to have John here for a long time. We'll continue to work toward that end. |
I can't remember a year when I've moved on as quickly. I made a concerted effort to do that this morning when I got up. I talked to Candice (Wiggins); I talked to my assistant coaches. I am really motivated by the fact that I don't want to be feeling this way a year from today. |
I coached today like I always coach. I was coaching to win and that is what I am going to do. I will reflect on what has happened after this is all over. I don't have time for that right now. We cannot allow what has happened or what will happen distract from what we are doing. |

I could have done a better job there. We take a lot of pride in playing good defense; the second half, we could have done a better job there. I probably could have put our quarterback in a better position the last part of the game, with some better protections, to help him out. |
I did see a lot of good things in the game. Everybody grew up a little bit, and we played at a higher level than we have been, both in intensity and execution. We just got wore out and lost our cool in the fourth quarter. Other than that, I thought we hung in there pretty well. |
I didn't have to tell nobody to be quiet. Everybody was sitting in his own seat. There wasn't a word. There wasn't a headphone set on. I had to look to see if they were nervous or if they were ready to play. I looked at their faces, and they looked like they were ready to play. |

I do not think they are asking for respect in this case. They want me to follow one of their taboos in the public domain. And I think there's a very fundamental principle in secular society that you cannot insist on everybody paying special attention to your religious feelings. |
I don't believe this is an isolated incident. You know what? Sidney is going to have to take a hard look again at himself. Who knows what this does to his work visa? Who knows what it does to next year? Nobody wants to see this happen, but sometimes those are the wake-up calls. |
