450,000 Iraqi children have died from starvation and lack of medicine as a result of our embargo. If you believe God loves little children - and hundreds of thousands more Iraqi children will die if there is war - you have to believe that God will judge us very harshly for this. |

A humane method does not necessarily mean a pain-free method. It doesn't bother me if, in the process of execution, a person feels some pain. ... The idea that a murderer is entitled to a painless death, which relatively few of us are going to have, I don't think is sustainable. |
A lot of local rivers are inundated with pinks, and I'd try the Upper Snohomish. Lower Skagit was dirty, but I was able to fish it using a bare pink marabou jig. I also did the Lower Samish, and hooked a nice king I broke off in pilings, but only saw a couple caught for 50 guys. |

A lot of people don't realize how much of an impact (Kennedy) has because she doesn't score a bunch of points. She causes a lot of turnovers and plays great defense all over the floor. Almost every steal we get is created by her defense and hustle. She doesn't get enough credit. |
A lot of people got bent out of shape thinking that we claimed to be the jewel of the east. What we hoped to do was become the jewel of the east. I think anybody who loves competition has to appreciate someone who is going to push the envelope a little bit in terms of competing. |

A major American city is lying in ruins. Where else would nobody care and not do anything? Whatever's going to happen here is not going to happen fast. The size and scope of the devastation ... it's not going to just take years to do, it's going to take years to know what to do. |

A new refinery is important now for the short term because we'd like to have cheaper gasoline for our transport sector and industry. We have to take advantage of Mexico's offer because we're not going to exploit our own petroleum resources. We won't put our biodiversity at risk. |
A policy maker, they operate on time frames of two, four and six years. We operate on time scales of a decade or more. Rather than rush to what appears to be an attractive political solution, let's make sure we're making solutions that will prove to be viable in the longer term. |
A Roman divorced from his wife, being highly blamed by his friends, who demanded, ''Was she not chaste? Was she not fair? Was she not fruitful?'' holding out his shoe, asked them whether it was not new and well made. ''Yet,'' added he, ''none of you can tell where it pinches me. |
