I don't think we maintained the level of intensity like Kentucky. Lots of games are decided by intensity in the second half. Their intensity was very good in the second half. They got several second-chance shots, while we didn't. They did a good job of capitalizing on our mistakes. |
I don't want to blame it on my hips, but it's just kind of been hard at times playing with bad hips. Toward the end of the season, there were days I didn't even practice I was in so much pain. But there's really no excuse. I think when it came game time, I just made the best of it. |
I don't want to bust my [expletive] all the time and have it turned over to somebody who has no idea what they hell they're doing or knows what coaching at Tech is all about, ... This way, it has somebody coming into it that is conducive to Tech and can maintain and improve things. |
I don't want to come across like we're Internet-bashing here, ... There are countless benefits that the Internet provides. It's educational, and it (aids) in the exchange of information. Unfortunately, there's a segment of our society that is going to use it for illegal activities. |
I don't want to make it sound like coach talk, but we know as quickly as the success comes it can go. It has to be protected. The formula involved is one thing and one thing only -- good players who are good kids. When you combine the two it makes it a lot easier to go into battle. |
I feel a lot more confident with the team this year. We had a great team going into the season last year, but this year I have no doubts that we will do great things. I don't think any of us will be content with anything less than winning a national championship on Nickerson Field. |
I feel very good about our chances tomorrow, as I did today. Washington & Jefferson was at one point ranked No. 23 in (NCAA) Division III, so I think they have a little more talent than Fitchburg does. We're just going to go out and play and let everything else take care of itself. |
I feel we win all round with it, both in terms of standards of rugby and financially. It gives players the opportunity to test themselves against the best players on the pitch and revenue-wise it has been excellent for us and one of the major reasons we took the step to play in it. |
I fought my way through that inning, came up (to the clubhouse) as quick as I could, to see if there was anything I could do to continue. But the fluid already started to build up in my leg. They gave me some medication, and they're going to treat it, and that's all I can tell you. |
I go out there and pitch my game and try to get ground balls. I don't really think too much into it. Obviously, I don't want the pressure of thinking I'm the No. 1. I do recognize it, but thinking about it just adds pressure to me that I don't need. I think I'm up to the challenge. |
I got into this business to guide kids and mentor and coach them. Although the wins and losses are not secondary, they dictate whether you get questions asked about the resignation or not. It?s never been suggested to me. There?s been plenty of times that option could have come up. |
I got to know David Allan through a friend about five years ago. When he heard about all our troubles with the hurricanes, he decided to do us a favor and perform here. He hasn't played a place this small in 20 years. He might have a tough guy image, but he has a lot of heart, too. |
I grew up 'interested in the Eagles,' so I guess you'd call me a fan. But they didn't win, so it's not like everything for me lived and died with the Eagles. I didn't have the passion of a native Philadelphian. When I was growing up, I was interested in the Packers and the Raiders. |
I had confidence in the guys and I had confidence in myself. I knew that when the regular season got here, and we were ready to go out and game plan and really play football when it mattered, we'd be OK. I think today we showed that we did a pretty good job - especially on offense. |
I had worked with the heart association in Salt Lake City, and I was asked to help the association here. I didn't know anyone, but I was given a list of names, and I called Donna Adam, and she and I have been working on this ever since. Donna lost both her parents to heart disease. |
