I'm not going to lie, I was shooting the ball the whole way until I saw Ryan open at the last second. I started pulling up for a shot and I saw that I had three guys on me. The law of numbers says that if three defenders are on me, someone must be open and I need to pass it to them. |
I'm not sure he's ready to start on Friday night. That's a lot of pressure for a young man as a sophomore. He pitched better probably last year as our Saturday guy. We'll probably move Adkins back to the Saturday spot, and I think we're going to stick with that the rest of the year. |
I'm not sure if I played much better than before, but it's just the feeling I have now, it's more relaxed. I know how to play and the service motion, all of that, is coming together. It always takes a couple of matches to get that feeling back, and I think tonight that was the case. |

I'm responsible for this company. I stand behind the results. I know the details, and I think the CEO has to be the moral leader of the company, ... I think high standards are good, but let's not anybody be confused, it's about performance with integrity. That's what you have to do. |
I'm sick. I just got a call from Brereton Jones, the former governor of Kentucky. He said that everybody is so down about this because they thought this horse was so good for racing. It's not life or death. It's just a hair fracture. But it took my breath away when I heard the news. |
I'm so blessed to have the relationship that I do with my mother. She said that the thing she was happiest about this year is that she's alive. It makes you realize how many people wake up every morning and not realizing how precious life is. This game is big, but it's not that big. |
I'm so proud of my kids and how hard they played. They knew no one gave us credit last year and no one was going to give us a chance coming up here this year. Man for man, they are a better team than us. We know that, but we understood how to play and emotionally it was huge for us. |
I'm the same guy, I'm just holding it in a little better. Going into the season, the key word for me was patience. There are going to be nights like Saturday night and Friday night. You have to grade yourself after every game. You have to realize there are going to be growing pains. |
I'm unsure about what I'm going to be doing in a month, let alone a year from now. But as of now, my intention is to keep working and keep doing what it is that I do. The only thing better than playing at the US Open for 20 years in a row would be to play here for 21 years in a row, |
I'm very happy to be here winning the title, ... No matter how much experience or how long you have played you never really know what to expect after coming back from an injury. I really wanted to come in here and kind of test my back and play matches and see how everything held up. |
I'm very proud of my team. We've obviously been struggling in the Big 12. There were a couple of different spots tonight when they could've blown us out of this building and I thought the team responded every timeout we took. They just hung in there and fought as hard as they could. |
I've been negative on the industry outlook for quite some time. I think next year is going to be a down year with competitive pricing. The economy is slowing and housing, which tends to be the swing factor, is slowing. I think it's going to be more of a replacement market next year. |
I've been studying pretty hard and I'm excited to go. But if I get eliminated in the first round I don't really care. It's really hard to study for all of it since the questions can be about anything. 'What town is home to something?' I don't know. But it's a good honor to be there. |
I've been talking about being on the edge but not over it for the last three or four weeks. We were by far the most penalized team in the league a couple of months ago, and we've focused on not taking dumb penalties anymore. That's helped us a lot. We don't give up very much 5-on-5. |
