 In the past, if a guy comes up to the net, you can cross-check him and push him out of the way. Now you can't do anything. He just stands there. You have two of their guys there and two of our guys there and it's really hard to see the puck. That's the hardest part about the rule changes.

 In the past, it was like, three-and-out and we'd be back on the field. Now, they're scoring at will, and we're back on the field. So we're kind of playing the same role, except the scoreboard keeps lighting up for us and we're getting the momentum. And momentum is big in college football.

 In the time of Galileo it was argued that the texts, 'And the sun stood still ... and hasted not to go down about a whole day' (Joshua x. 13) and 'He laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not move at any time' (Psalm cv. 5) were an adequate refutation of the Copernican theory.

 In the very short term, you are seeing a response to the economic news, and that can give the market some buoyancy. Whereas in September and October, the above-consensus earnings enabled the market to perform better than it traditionally has, in November the focus switches to the economy.

 In this regard, one can only note with dismay the evidence of a continuing growth in military expenditures and the flourishing arms trade, while the political and juridical process established by the international community for promoting disarmament is bogged down in general indifference.

 Indeed, it's not feasible to do the sort of thorough fact-checking that some books may require, in terms of both money and time. We do go back to authors over and over again, getting them to confirm facts and questioning the veracity of their stories, but sometimes it's just not possible.

 INDIFFERENT, adj. Imperfectly sensible to distinctions among things.

"You tiresome man!" cried Indolentio's wife,
"You've grown indifferent to all in life."
"Indifferent?" he drawled with a slow smile;
"I would be, dear, but it is not worth while." --Apuleius M. Gokul

 Islamic terrorism is a much bigger problem in Europe than in the U.S. because you don't have the relatively large Muslim community that we do. What the war in Iraq has done is radicalize these people and make some of them prepared to support terrorism. Iraq is a great recruiting sergeant.

 Israel supports the European position. We believe that the international community - through the UN Security Council - must present the Iranian regime with a clear dilemma, either they totally cease their nuclear weapons program, or they endanger their relationship with the outside world.

 It basically brought the whole idea of advance directives and living wills into the national consciousness. Everyone said, 'We don't want that to happen to us, and more importantly, we don't want that to happen to our family.' That's the one good thing that came out of a very tragic case.
