I believe this is the fourth year we've been doing it. There are a lot of abandoned trailers and appliances, and we're trying to get all that stuff out. People had hunting camps and fishing camps on those lots. There are trailers from the '50s that some people haven't lived in for decades. |
I called my principal at about 5 p.m. and told her that if I was offered the position, I wouldn't be taking it in light of what has happened here with Josh. The job wasn't offered, but because of the situation with Josh, it was very clear that I couldn't leave. This is a very fragile time. |
I can be really fast, but other people are in the race. So you've got to be able to maneuver around those guys, and you have to be a little more versatile out there on the ice. I bring my fitness that I gained from the long track over to here. Hopefully, I'll be able to put it to good use. |
I can control going out and playing hard everyday and trying to improve myself, and Carlos is the same way. I can't control what Carlos does. If we're in a ballgame and he's there, I want to try to help him anyway possible and try to help the team win and I know it's the same way with him. |
I can't imagine a greater honor than being acknowledged by my peers. Being an actor is a hell of a thing. It's a hell of a thing. It's up and down. It's great, but I found the best thing about it is hanging around the craft-service table with other actors and crew people, eating doughnuts. |
I coached both of them at the AAU level and tried to teach the game of basketball. In some ways I think they've kind of appreciated that type of insight to it, versus maybe just organizing and going out and playing hard. It's nice that they're getting involved with it on a voluntary basis. |
I continue to see improvement on the defensive end. Over the last three games, I think we're doing the right things. The last game against Air Force, a team that had shot 49 percent, we held them under 30, and to follow up today and hold another team under 30, I like the improvement there. |
I couldn't seem to get any kind of rhythm, ... I just didn't really didn't have a good feel for being able to locate the ball. Obviously, my pitch count got up quickly and it was kind of wearing me out. I was just hoping to get out of that last inning without having it blow up like it did. |
I decided to just listen to the fans and let them tell me. Then I heard them boo. This is a great win for our program. Nobody expected us to come in here and win, so we had nothing to lose. We were loose. The pressure was on them, and the rim got smaller [for Illinois] as the game wore on. |
I didn't ask him about the back. But I'm not going to ask him about it anymore. If he's able to go Sunday (his next scheduled appearance), he'll be there. I don't think he felt great because of some of the movements he was making in the dugout, but it's going to be: Can he manage the pain? |

I don't absolve my father completely of his responsibility for what he did to us... I feel compassion, maybe. He had his demons. But I still can't understand how a man can walk away from children. And leave them to starve, as we nearly did, if it wasn't for my mother going out and begging. |
I don't expect to fit in right away but I do sense that the fashion world is rooting for me, too. I'm not being treated like a celebrity wannabe fashion designer. But even if I was, it doesn't really matter because I'm doing this for me ... but it does feel really good when you have a hit, |
I don't go out with the idea of seeing an elk, bear, mountain lion. If I go out and keep my expectations in check I always see something interesting ... It's a huge country. It's just unimaginably rich with what you can see hear, smell and remember if you open yourself up to the adventure. |
I don't know how I could ever thank Coach Chaney enough. I know him as well as anyone in the world. I couldn't have had a better mentor. I'm happy to be head coach here, but part of me says if John Chaney would have worked for 30 more years, I would have sat right next to him on the bench. |
