I'm very disappointed. We made the commitment to Mark in the summer when he signed on board. He told me personally (Thursday) that it had nothing to do with the team, the players on the team or the coach. He just felt this was an opportunity he could not refuse and he was going to take it. |
I've been here 2 1/2 years and when a coach sets expectations high and it's foreign to kids, it takes time for them to understand and trust and believe that goal is attainable for them. Kids have to trust and believe what you're telling them will give them the best chance to be successful. |
I've done the activism thing for a long time now, and this is a much better opportunity for me to get my message across, make an impact. Being a part of the media, you get a chance to be part of shaping a dialogue, creating a dialogue. You have much more of an opportunity to create change. |
I've never been around an athlete who thinks that winning and doing it right is so important. I've never seen her take a short cut. She's a great kid and a great asset to our program. Hopefully, we will have kids that follow her path. She is a great role model for our team and our program. |
I've never thought of that _ 'Is he a quick turnaround guy?' But he certainly has become that. I knew he would be very successful wherever he went, but I didn't know he would take UTEP from six to 24 or A&M from zero to eight in league wins _ and do it overnight, which is what he has done. |
IBM is clearly showing that software alone won't solve the totality of SOA challenges, ... This will turn up the heat on the other platform vendors such as BEA (Systems) and Oracle to consider how they too will broaden their coverage of SOA beyond simply software and professional services. |
If a guy who has a personal interest in the Braves buys the team, he's more apt to take the money that he makes off the team and put it right back into the team ? such as Ted did. Time Warner didn't do that. Obviously, selling out to (Liberty Media), I don't see things being any different. |
If he left March 15, that would be a different story. We haven't played a game yet. No pitcher has pitched a pitch yet in a game, so to me that does not factor in. The most important thing for us right now really is for him to take care of the personal matter. Everything else is secondary. |
If he's not stretched out, that's going to be an issue. But we can't request a guy not go. I encourage him to go. Let's take the high road here. This might be a good thing for the young man. He's going to be around very competitive baseball, and hopefully he'll get very meaningful innings. |

If I were the president, I'd tell the military to figure out how we systematically and in organized fashion get our troops out of there , because the war's over. It's not going to get any better. I think that the administration has got to permit the American military over there to fight... |
If it was his last day here, I'm truly embarrassed. (Because) it was an embarrassing game. Embarrassing to Marshall and embarrassing to the city of St. Louis. If this was it for him here, I want to thank him. I'm a fan of football, and a fan of his, and he's done a lot to extend my career. |
If it were as negative as it appears on the surface, Microsoft's stock would be dropping like a rock, and it's doing just the opposite. The market is apparently saying, financially speaking, this is not a devastating event for Microsoft. Of course, as more news come out, that might change. |
If it were only the federal government's lawsuit, it would be clear that the Appeals Court loses jurisdiction, ... The existence of the state suit makes it significantly less clear. But if the Supreme Court wants both suits, there is little doubt in my mind that it could take both of them. |
If it's going to be windy, put some rocks around it. Something simple, just throw on a blanket, a sheet, or an old quilt or something. This happens to be a rose bush, it's pretty thorny, so the thorns will actually help hold it in. Something that simple is going to help protect that plant. |
