I feel like I'm playing better every game, ... I'm not up and down; ever since the start of the season, I've been climbing up. That's why I'm excited. We're going into these last five games, it's the meat of our schedule, it's all ACC opponents and I think I can play better football than I have been. |
I feel like I've been in this sort of situation before, not ranking-wise, but coming back from surgeries where it's been a long way back. This is just another thing where I'm going to have to work harder. I'm working hard. I'm just going to keep working hard and sooner or later it's going to pay off. |
I felt comfortable out there. Even if I have not been starting, I have been around the team all year, so the guys know the way I play and I know the way that they play. I am just glad that I could get out there and help as much as I could. It felt almost like the beginning of the season again for me. |
I found out that two of my students have lost everything, one of them will not be returning to St. Peter's because her parents had to place her with family members out of the area. I found out that another one of my students has moved to Birmingham with his mother as well so he will not be returning. |
I give a lot of credit to Wilmington for their win in the first game. They strung together some hits and their pitcher pitched a great game. Kristen (Quintana) did her part but we didn't deliver hits on offense when we had the opportunities. We left too many people on base and hit too many fly balls. |
I give them credit, too. They were down 4-3 and that must have been disheartening. They came back -- that's a pretty good team on that side. It's always been our strength, especially our outfield defense. I think we went all of last year with two errors in the outfield. It was just one of those days. |
I go out there, I focus, I make sure that I know my assignments, make sure Coach Martz and the other coaches can trust me, make sure I play my butt off, and basically make it where they have to keep me, ... I want to make myself play well enough that they have to say, 'Hey, we have to keep this guy.' |
I guess the more common approach has been, if they feel a guy has come in and isn't properly conditioned, they would bring him into camp and have him do extra work. We have disagreed with the suspension and are continuing to work at resolving it. Hopefully we can find a quick and amicable resolution. |
I had a chance to join the team already in late 2004. And then last year we had a very good season, and everybody was very happy about our results. I've really settled down in the team. I'm 100 percent committed to Toyota and happy to be here. Step by step we're getting close to where we want to get. |
I had a lot of maintenance my first year because we had six outfielders, so there were three guys every day who were pissed off because they weren't in the lineup. Last year we started with three first baseman and there was maintenance there. They were all veteran guys. This year we haven't had that. |
I had to physically convince the audience that he could fly but, just as important, I had to convince the audience that that man who was playing that role could fly. And I could not believe that Redford or Newman or any of those well-known actors in that role, in blue leotards and a red cape, flying. |
I have had the opportunity to observe that Jimmy also goes above and beyond what would be expected of a small town mayor. The time and effort that he had Britt Thomas, city manager, and others put into getting Southern Classic Food, the feed mill and Wal-Mart DC to locate in Brundidge was tremendous. |
I have had the pleasure of participating on an alternative database focus group sponsored by Oracle, and based on my participation am confident that they are analyzing all databases, and they will make some determinations as to how other databases may be able to be integrated into the final solution. |
I have intense skepticism. This is a resource that has promised so much and delivered so little. If it's economically and technically feasible, the good news is this nation will have a new energy source. The bad news is that it would absolutely devastate everything people love about western Colorado. |
