I remember one time, we had someone come in who wasn't from the same background. I'm not going to say who. We all knew it wasn't going to work and it didn't. As for the rest of the guys, they all just really get it. I don't have to reach down and pull them up. Ever. If anything, they're holding me up. |

I said during the summer that our target is the playoffs — and that would depend on how we start off if we are going to see this thing through. I'm very pleased with the start because I have never been in this position before. I'm not surprised, but just satisfied that we've come together as a team. |
I said from Day 1, and I'll say it now: I know Coach is a great coach. He's proven it. So the only thing that means to me is that we're not doing it right. We can't be doing it right. Because he's won championships on every single level. So what does that make us? Imbeciles. That's all it can make us. |
I see my kids more often than ever, the six of them. The problems that used to be there, between myself and the first wives are gone. And what's happened over these years is that we've become friends. What a concept you know, become friends first, then get married. They all get on with each other too. |
I see the same Kevin. Kevin wants to win; he wants to attack. I see him everyday and I see the same passion. I thought tonight that they were double-teaming him and I think that's kind of what got him out of whack. Until we knock down shots and be aggressive and attack the rim, he's going to see that. |
I set out to prove that I can play in this league. It's kind of me trying to prove it to myself. I'm not trying to prove any doubters wrong or anything like that. I just really want to play in this league and I really want to contribute and it's something that I'm going to pour everything I have into. |
I still don't necessarily believe we (are) the best team in the country. When you're playing in an event that's a one-and-done deal, anything can happen. I've been on the side of it where it ends in a heart-breaking manner. And now I've been on the side where it's obviously just an incredible feeling. |
I take the blame for that (game). I should have ran the clock down more (with 30 seconds left). First time in a long time, my aggressiveness beat me. I was thinking get to the basket. A flop call on a team that is dead, I kind of gave them new life. It's a tough call but I guess it was the right call. |
I talked to (the team) before the game about assists and about being team players. We had two assists against Philomath (Friday, Jan. 20) and we had 14 assists against Y-C. We only had one in the fourth quarter and once again they caught up with us in the fourth quarter, so maybe that was the problem. |
I think all of us on Wall Street were misled not only by the company's first quarter guidance, but also by fact back in the fourth quarter, their North American margins were disappointing and terrible. I think there's real strength here, but a lot of good things were concentrated in the first quarter. |
I think for the most part, winning is always more of an advantage. If you play (in the NCAA Tournament) on Thursday or Friday, and you don't have to travel through too many time zones, I don't think there's any plus in us losing. I didn't feel any better about it (last year). I can guarantee you that. |
I think he's positioning himself for the future. Some of the fury will have subsided, and everyone will be a little more receptive to change. Unless there's a problem they're not addressing, I think all the sports that are in now should stay. For this vote I think the message is, Shape up or ship out. |
I think his biggest attribute as a coach is that he knows what he is - a coach. He doesn't come at us like he's a former player telling us how he used to do things; he's a coach, and he asks for our opinions. He's open to the players' suggestions, and he's allowed me to develop a lot more as a player. |
I think it means something because in this league confidence means so much. You never want a player to have so much confidence that he feels he can take over a game at any time. The positive thing about this is that he's not going to think he can walk out on the floor and score 17 straight against us. |
