 I just think that looking at the overall program and the direction and what the future looked like, I just thought a change needed to be made. It is not easy. It is not easy because he is a classy person. We sure do appreciate all that he has done for St. Norbert College and the way he represented us.

 I just walked in [the clubhouse] and said that was one of our toughest losses but one of the best losses that I can remember in a long time, just because of what the club showed. It was so impressive watching the team compete like that. That was really impressive, and they deserved to be complimented.

 I just want to go out there and hit the routines like I know I can hit them. Last year, it was crazy watching all the teams around me, trying to figure out what was going on. This year, I feel like we've seen most of the best teams in the nation, and I get to see them again, and I know what to expect.

 I knew when I got the assignment it was going to be an emotional thing, ... We had feelings, but we had to put them in the background. We knew it was going to kill people right and left. But my one driving interest was to do the best job I could so that we could end the killing as quickly as possible.

 I know everybody is yelling and wanting me to miss, but I always try to go up to the line confident and tune everything out. As soon as I saw it wasn't going in I figured I had to get that ball because we needed it to stay in control. I was going to shoot it, but I saw my girl open so I dished it off.

 I know that Dan Marino, Donovan McNabb and Randall Cunningham didn't exactly blow the top off the score, and they were pretty darn good football players. There is some validity to it, but the main thing is: Can you play football? And one thing that jumps out at you is what an incredible athlete he is.

 I know there's a lot of people who publicly don't want to say this right now. But I think they're hoping that the momentum this occasion brings, and the way it brings the community together, will help extend this to the next step that they all want, which is a new stadium and baseball for a long time.

 I learned from each of them, Jim, Joe and Steve about the positive things it takes to run a football program. They taught me it takes not only hard work in recruiting, but building mental toughness. Football is mental as well as physical. It starts with each person believing they can get the job done.

 I let the game run its course, but I already have my design in my head. I know that in the late innings there's going to be more pressure, but it was designed for the pressure and knowing my people can do it. When you have these kinds of people, you can't let the pressure get to you. Use intelligence.

 I look at every mistake differently. I'm not going to say anything more publicly other than this is going to be evaluated very carefully and there's a lot of logistics nowadays in modern football that you have to abide by. But I'm very disappointed and concerned and that's about all I'll say publicly.

 I look forward to speaking with the citizens of Pulaski County about how the judicial system works. Not only am I willing to present the Pillar of Justice Program about the court system, I'm also willing to speak at special events such as Memorial or Veteran's Day, or during special school activities.

 I lost a point but if you consider where we played against whom we played, then this would have been the result you expected. The way we lost is really disappointing, especially as we had one man more and we were holding them 1-1 right to the end. But you can't say that inside we're really torn apart.

 I mean, it's shocking when you see how easily they fold in the media today. They don't stand their ground. You know, if they are criticized by the White House, they just fall apart. I mean, come on, toughen up, guys. It's only our Constitution and our country at stake. Let's get some spine going here.

 I personally predicted we'd win 12 games this season, and we didn't. Maybe we screwed up. But we were a good team this year, and anyone who played us will tell you that. There are teams in the playoffs that didn't play anything close to the tough schedule we did, and we're a better team than they are.

 I really don't care about the response to my hair... this is just how my hair is. I don't take care of it, or comb it, or put anything in it, or style it or anything. When people comment on it, it is funny to me that it draws such attention. It makes me realize how insignificant that sort of thing is.
