Having been there already, I have a feel for the types of things (Hamilton) needs to know and some of the things I don't need to burden him with, especially when he's moving from game to game to game. You have to be sure he gets the meat and potatoes, and you don't bother him with the peas and carrots.

Having Mark and Nick out — that hurt us. Of course, Mark got a red card in the last game and couldn't play in this game and Nick is playing baseball. We had the speed up front and we had chances. We had more shots on goal than they did. I think it was 13 to 10 but we just couldn't put it in the hole.

He brought her to the hospital. He told us he'd come home from work and found her in his driveway. He didn't even tell us that he was her boyfriend, he told us he didn't know her. Until we got deeper into the investigation, we didn't realize that they lived together. There's no telling where he is now.
  David Smith

He did not draw me into the movement, but he was in it from the start. He and I had met at my twenty-second birthday party, in 1945. So we knew each other for a long, long time. And although Martin, a few years later, became very active and became the first editor of ONE Magazine, he didn't draw me in.

He didn't take us by surprise, but I didn't expect him to shoot the ball as well as he did. We were focusing on [other guys] as their scorers. [Coleman] had a few nice backdoor cuts and a couple [two] three-pointers that made a difference. He did a good job of running that team and he played very well.

He got up and headed, he was going to go to the computer, and I said, 'No, it's not the computer. I could see the big brass buttons reflecting light (through the front door). That's a sight I'll never forget. There's something inside of me that still says to this day, if we just hadn't opened the door.

He is creating a situation that doesn't exist. Maybe he should request that the league release results of officials' performance evaluations so fans, players and owners can see how wonderful a job they actually do. The officials do a good job overall. This would be his opportunity to confirm it to all.

He is issue-free, I guess you could call it right now. He feels good and he is looking forward to the challenge this week with this defense. You have to hit the hole exceptionally fast and quick to get creases because things close up very quickly. He knows it is a challenge, as does our offensive line.

He is quite incredible - it made me think a bit about me winning the French Open at 17 and how professionals accomplish things so young. I had the feeling Tiger Woods did not quite know what was going on and it was like that for me at the French. It was only afterwards that I realized the significance.

He keeps you grounded and lets you know that regardless of what happens, don't ever get too upset about what someone says to you. If you have a bad game and someone's cutting you down, don't get down on yourself. If you have a great game, don't listen to them. Don't let your head get big because of it.

He said he was happy I would be part of the family and that he can't wait for the No. 1 recruiting class to come up so we can start our path to a national championship. It's good to know people consider us the No. 1 (class) in the country, but it doesn't mean anything if we don't prove it on the field.

He surrounds himself with quality, trustworthy people, many of whom are locals. His various businesses have helped turn Plainville around. Before, young families could not make a living and moved away - not because they wanted to, but because they had to. It was like the very slow death of a community.

He was a great tight end. I bet him 100 bucks that he'd play tight end for us some day, and I lost the bet. I paid him 100 bucks. I wrote him a check. When I did it, it was more of 'You're a heck of an athlete. Whatever you put your mind to, you can get it done.' That's really what I was trying to say.

He was a three-year starter here and probably the best offensive lineman we've had in the history of the school. He's got the combination of size and strength and running ability, plus he has the added feature of being a top-notch long snapper, which in itself will keep you on the team for a long time.

He will come out and throw the ball four times in the first two series and he's not going to throw the rest of the game, ... So, we're going to let him throw his first four. And then, we'll worry about his halfback pass he likes to show off once a year. And then, he'll go back to what they normally do.
