Some of everything happened out there. Basically, we were outplayed. In every aspect of the game, we were outplayed. Basically, it seems like there is a problem that needs to be fixed and it doesn't lie with one person. No one individual is the reason this is happening. It's just collectively as a group we need to come together. |
Some of the products offered by lenders have a built-in 60-day excess, for example Alliance & Leicester, or a 30-day exclusion, such as the Halifax. In other words, the policy does not pay out until a borrower has been off work ill for a minimum of 30 or 60 days. Many customers just cannot envisage such a long period of illness. |
Some people go through treatment more than once and some never respond to treatment. But most people put their lives together quietly, silently, anonymously. You don't see or hear from them, so we are left with gauging our impressions of treatment on those who have failed or relapsed, and that gives a grossly incomplete picture. |
Sometimes in winter the surface waters, which are less salty, were so cold that the sharks spent more time in warmer, saltier waters below. When I glimpsed the sharks' radio positions from these frigid seas, I often wondered what it would be like to overwinter in the wilds of an Alaska fjord chasing herring in constant darkness. |
Sort of like the March of Dimes, the kids get sponsors – uncles, classmates, older sisters and brothers, cousins – to say, 'Hey, I'll give you a dollar or five dollars for one lap around the track. The kids do a quarter-mile lap, which is one lap around the track at Drake Stadium, and the kids raise money for other children. |
Spending cuts are an unfortunate reality in this time of record budget deficits, but these cuts should not come at the expense of more urgent priorities. Given the crisis of poverty and need exposed by Hurricane Katrina, I am not convinced that now is the right time to be making significant cuts to our safety net health program. |
Strategic communication is at the core of effective leadership. Through a leader's use of verbal and written symbols employees are motivated or deflated, informed or confused, productive or apathetic. A leader's ability to carve off the verbal fat and get to the meat of an issue, idea or plan will find success at every turn. |
Surely We revealed it on a blessed night surely We are ever warning-- / Therein every wise affair is made distinct, / A command from Us; surely We are the senders (of apostles), / A mercy from your Lord, surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing, / The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. |
That is a great basketball team, the best I've seen. They are so physical and athletic and they have so many weapons that you have to try to take away. ... We played the way I wanted us to play but it is tough to sustain that level of play when they are making shots, pushing the ball up the court and grabbing offensive rebounds. |
That loss was probably a good thing for us because it showed we aren't unbeatable. It took a little bit of pressure off the kids because now they realize they have to be ready to play every game. They come out and work hard every day. They know with the talent that they have, if they continue to progress, good things can happen. |
That was a nice little surprise that the guys over at Lawrence Central gave us. (Winning Conference Indiana titles) is something we've been very successful with. Every year you try to win as many games as you can, but the conference and (Marion) County (Tournament) are big deals. There'll be a little more incentive Friday night. |
That was enough of a public health concern to get it in the dictionary right away. Now, one of two things could happen. Either we'll never hear about SARS again, and if so, I've wasted three lines of type in the dictionary. Or it will come back, and everyone will go to the dictionary in a time of need to see how SARS is defined. |
That's definitely something we hope works in our favor. But it's going to be a tough weekend. Five of the top eight seeds (including No. 1 West Jefferson and No. 3 Grandview) are coming here. I guess the good thing is that if a kid can make it through here he's got a pretty good shot at going all the way to the state tournament. |
That's not the reason he's here. The reason he's here is because he's a high-character, high-quality person, and I kind of like those guys in the coaching profession. How much are we draining him for information on Tennessee? We're asking him about the personnel. He's helped us by telling us, but a lot of that is overrated, too. |
That's what happens when you put pressure on the other team. You see our coaches yelling at our players all of the time about giving us a hard 90 feet all of the way to the bag. When you do that, panic can set in when you have speed. When you have guys in the lineup that can run and you put the ball in play it can create things. |
