He shows up. He's always about 15, 20, 30 pounds overweight but always finds a way to get back in shape and plays extremely hard. It's important to him. And regardless of his role - 'House' is not playing a whole lot except for a few plays on the goal line - he still helps us on special teams and has got to be prepared if somebody goes down. |
He told me one minute he was driving up there, the next minute people are shooting. He doesn't try and put himself in these situations, and yet things can happen. He didn't get up and say, 'I am going to this gas station and get gunfire.' And he is not the only person that has gone to a gas station or convenience store at (2) in the morning. |
He?s really made an impression on everybody in camp. We went over to a big-league game the other day, and he was very impressive to the staff, the way he goes about his business, the way he plays the game. He?s very focused. He understands what he needs to do to get better as a player and he?s going to work at it every day. He?s moving fast. |
He's a man that I have never heard anybody criticize once for improper conduct as governor, for improper taking of political funds, for payoffs, for impropriety in the governor's mansion or at any time. And that is a big state. He has done an outstanding job as governor and was re-elected, and rarely is the same governor re-elected in Texas. |
He's a wizard. He's so patient. In that case, you couldn't run the low line and be fast in the end. You could sometimes gain a little ground, but you'd lose it further down. He was in second and the guy would go on the inside and gain, build a gap. But Seth was just patient. He knew exactly where he needed to be, what line he needed to take. |
He's durable enough to carry 25-26-27 times per game. The problem is staying healthy, and I think a lot of that is luck. I don't care who you are, you have to have some luck. Look at Curtis Martin. He's about the same size as Willie, and he has played for years and years. He just doesn't get hurt. Maybe the same thing will happen for Willie. |
He's got the middle of the order guys behind him. Plate discipline and what you swing at is extremely important at the major-league level. For him to become a great hitter like people think he can be, he's going to have to learn to not offer at pitches around (but not in) the zone. This type of role will help him do that and understand that. |
He's just so important. You're always going to look at (Zach) Hamill and (Peter) Mueller and guys like that and go, 'Look at that talent, look at that skill.' You're not going to realize Mark's role is just as important. But we've been around the game long enough to know it is, so we're thrilled he made a decision to stick with it this year. |
He's made some adjustments. He hadn't played in a while and he missed all of last year basically. He's a good hitter, we know that. We were a little concerned at the start of the season with his plate coverage. We talked about it a little bit, saw it a little bit in spring training. But sometimes you have to let guys find out for themselves. |
Hey, we have a lot of guys back. And we can't run guys out of here. They love going to bowl games and getting those gifts. But I am approaching it the same. I am anxious to see how much better our guys can get. Everybody that we played (in the Big East) had a young team last year. We played pretty well, but there are always areas to improve. |
His on-ball defense can get better. His off-ball defense can get better. His defense against the pick-and-roll can get better. Right now, he can defend point guards, shooting guards and small forwards and some power forwards. He may be able to guard some centers. You gotta figure it's all upside with his youth. I believe the sky's the limit. |
His stuff has gotten better each time out. What that tells me is his arm is quicker than it has been. Last year at the end and in Spring Training, he wasn't showing the quick arm that I remember seeing. He has done everything we asked him to do and that's really what the conditions were. We need a fifth starter and he's going to be that guy. |
Hopefully, I'll have the report by the beginning of the season, and then we can discuss it with the (NFL) Players' Association to see whether there are changes that we can make that would perhaps increase the penalties for players who might engage with others in a course of conduct that was designed to circumvent the (drugs-testing) program. |
Hotel guests have come to deserve a certain caliber of service and accommodations from Hyatt and we strive to continually raise the bar. With these new guarantees, we are reassuring our clientele that they will receive exactly what they requested when making the reservation, and if by chance they don't, we will make it up to them generously. |
I always looked up to those guys, ... I was able to have Dale Hunter to talk to my first year when he had a job in the organization. Just being able to talk to him after games and after practices, it was an invaluable experience. And to play with Adam Oates and Steve Konowalchuk, there was a lot to learn. Hopefully, I took advantage of that. |
