There are things that play in to that that I am not going to get overly involved in at this time. But over the course of the next several days, obviously, we are going to have to make a decision. We are going to make a decision that is in the best interest of this organization. That's the decision that we have to make. That's the prudent thing to do. |

There was a belief at that time that we didn't need the (pro personnel) process so defined, or that position so defined ... that our head coach and our scouting department would be more involved. I think now there's kind of a belief that we should have a more traditional setup where there is a director of pro personnel. And it's more clearly defined. |
There was a sweet side and there was a sour side [to 2002]. The sour side was we lost in the last game. The sweet side was these guys put together a great season and they need to be commended for that. ... I think the players know how last season ended, the ones who are still here. We move on and we don't worry about that. We're on to the new season. |
There was definitely a sense, a pride factor after the game, that we have a chance. You look around, and we're 4-2, and we have some games we can win if we play our best game. If we play like we did Saturday, we can win the majority of our games we have left. It's ironic how it happened last year, but it's the exact same situation we're in right now. |
There's a whole army of people looking after you to make sure that you're not in any kind of danger. I mean, even when you're up swinging off a wire, there's people there checking everything. Everything is double checked and triple checked before you go anywhere near it. I'm not one of those actors who gets any pleasure out of doing their own stunts. |
There's something about whatever despair and whatever negativity there is in your life, once you expel it, well, it's like praying, saying whatever's troubling you through your mouth, and hearing it through your ears, participating in your own despair makes it better. So we're not making it for you like a birthday cake, we're making it for ourselves. |
These kids are a lot more intense this year. We don't have the complaining and whining that we had the past couple of years. We have very strong leadership in place and the kids just line up and do whatever is asked of them because they don't want to let their teammates down. I think their work ethic is going to pay off over the course of the season. |
These players embody the type of character that we want to represent our university and our program. It's the head coach's job to put the team together and there is a factor with the roster and the number of position players we decided to sign. But more than that, it is a factor that that they are the right kind of people that we want in our program. |
They did a good job of coming back after being 15 points down at the half. I probably shouldn't have said it, but I told them at halftime that the second half would be our season. I told them we could either give the effort and come back and win, or we could keep playing like we had been and be left to fight for the crumbs for the rest of the season. |
They had a hand over the division for the last couple [or] three years, and it's always good to set a tone early that it's hopefully going to be a different story this year. We got a long ways to go, but any time you can get a win against teams in your division, it's big and definitely against these guys, because you know they'll be in it at the end. |
They know what they are going to get when they come here. They didn't come here to play games, although they did play games. They didn't come here to eat, although they did eat. They didn't come here to see all their buddies, although they did see their buddies. They came here to meet God, because they know God is here and they came for the blessing. |
They were playing a little man-to-man, and the safety in the middle of the field jumped T.J. (Houshmandzadeh), who was running across the field. Chad did a great job of getting a good release. That's a really tough play on the offensive line. ... You take seven steps, you're sitting back there 10 yards deep, and you have to hitch three or four times. |
They've just come out of nowhere, and they're huge. They've done a number of things that were really smart. One was blogging. People have been doing personal home pages for as long as the Internet's been around, but they were one of the first social networks to jump on that. They've also jumped on music, and there's a lot of traffic surrounding that. |
This baroque dichotomy between their sublime aspirations of judicial excellence and the ridiculous rules to which they have to conform while they pirouette to the demands of politicians and titans of the bar must bend the minds of the best and idealistic judicial candidates like a pretzel. We are destroying the very institution we are trying to save. |
