He's banged up and a result he's mentally banged up too. We rely on him for a whole lot. Everything kind of falls on his shoulders and he takes more pride in that than most people. That leads to a little more fatigue. I'm not a big fan - no coach is - of missed practice time, but we got to hope that if we sneak some days off in he'll be more energized. |
He's comfortable - that's the main thing. J.P. will be there eventually, but right now Kelly is. He's a comfortable guy in there. He's a confident leader, a natural leader. . . . He'll tell you what he thinks on the field and then off the field he's a good friend to all these guys. So he's really well liked in the locker room, and that goes a long way. |
He's going to have days like that. I've had them and I'm going to have some more. The thing that would be encouraging is him bouncing back and having one of those tremendous days where you say, 'That's the guy that we're used to seeing' and the guy we want to see. Those are the things you really want to encourage, instead of dwelling on some negatives. |
He's still got a lot to learn. There are times when things are great. What happens sometimes when you have a great pass rush, (opposing quarterbacks) get rid of the ball very fast. Sometimes he's doing too many moves and they get rid of the ball and there's no chance. You've just got to get up the field and crush the pocket. So it's a work in progress. |

His favorite thing is watching the Cleveland Indians. All he has to hear is the Fox Sports Indians music and the announcers and he worms his way over to the television faster than you'd think is possible. I tried getting him to watch other baseball games but he wouldn't have anything to do with them. I wonder if it's the music or the voices or what.... |

I am also very proud to be a liberal. Why is that so terrible these days? The liberals were liberators -- they fought slavery, fought for women to have the right to vote, fought against Hitler, Stalin, fought to end segregation, fought to end apartheid. Liberals put an end to child labor and they gave us the five day work week! What's to be ashamed of? |
I am asking Sven to take what I believe to be the best English team since 1966 to the World Cup and try and win it. There was an opportunity for some significant clarification of the situation. We discussed it long and hard and felt the best way forward was him to focus on 2006. And then for him and us to part company in good heart and with good grace. |
I blame him for his weakness and lack of determination. At the beginning of this year we had a wave of nationalist incidents and attacks on the E.U. project, including some by members of his own party. He did not look the problem in the eye and draw a clear line between anti-E.U. nationalism and the attitude of tolerance. He tried to avoid the subject. |
I can especially see this arrangement being of interest to women. With 30 percent widowed in the 65-74 age bracket, they'll be living a long time without a spouse. Instead of moving into a group situation where you might or might not like the other members, you could choose your friends and people who have the same kinds of value systems and interests. |
I can tell you this for sure, it was when I played baseball in high school and I was in the outfield and I would literally pray to God - I'm not joking, I'd pray to God not to let the ball come to me. I was so bad, I was just terrible. I played soccer - I was the goalie. I would pray to God it didn't get kicked anywhere near me. I was an awful athlete. |
I decided to use black-and-white for the film, because that is the image of adolescence to me. We see teen films all the time where the colors are very bright and always changing. But teens tend to look at things in very specific terms. They believe in things one way or the other, and they see themselves and the people around them one way or the other. |
I deserved to be booed off the field. I got my butt kicked. What do you expect? They want us to win. We're playing a key team to establish something, and I let the team down tonight, plain and simple. I fell behind to quite a few hitters and they made me pay. I'm sure I'll be facing them again. So if I'm out there again, hopefully I'll do a better job. |
I didn't even have a lap timer on in the car, but it didn't matter-I was just trying to be smooth and get a feel for the car and improve a little bit each time. Of course I know we could have been much more competitive with our own car, but given the circumstances, we are happy to be in the race and will be working on this car to be ready for tomorrow. |
