 The Cardinals have played 39 years of baseball beneath the arches of Busch Stadium and St. Louis has openly embraced the Cardinals spirit every season. We are proud to celebrate that no matter the club's win-loss record or league standing, fans have been treated to a host of memorable plays and moments combined to form the rich history that is Cardinals baseball.

 They are a big part of Busch [Stadium]. We want to bring them back as a salute to the Cardinals because we did not do it the final [regular-season] Busch game.

 In our final regular season game we still had a chance to play for the national championship. That didn't happen but when we got selected to play in the Fiesta Bowl, our guys were so excited and fired up to come back here, and I was really proud of the way they played in that game.

 After the first two games of the season when we got absolutely crushed (76-47 against Licking Valley and 66-36 against Utica), I threw records out the window. I wasn't going to look at wins and losses. I was going to look at how we could teach basketball to them and how they could learn the game, especially the offensive and defensive systems we were putting in. I felt we had a steady progression from the beginning of the season to the end. I felt at the end of the season that they had a good knowledge of the game. I felt we had a successful season because they learned how to play.

 [For Farmington (3-1 overall, 1-0 4 AAA), it was the biggest road test to date although the Cardinals did win at Pea Ridge in Week 2. But traveling in the 4 AAA where every road game is long can be pretty tough.] It’s always good to start the conference season off with a win, ... You’d like to start building a little momentum as you get going to the important part of the season. And it’s always easier to do that when you’re coming off a win.

 It's like when the [Cardinals' 2004] season was over and we lost, I was hoping Spring Training would start in three days to see if we could turn the page, instead of a four-game sweep,

 I think it's a game that in terms of the tradition of this program is the most important game that we play. I think for any team playing in it, it's a big game. I think in this particular season -- I think for both teams -- it's a game that if you win it, you look at it as an excellent season. If you lose it, it's probably a disappointing season. It's a record that everyone associated with the Cardinals should be proud of -- most importantly, our loyal fans.

Despite a regular season that stretches over three months and features at least one nationally telecast game almost every single day, a majority of the ad revenue is generated during the short post-season.
