On the cash earnings side, management is estimating toward 34-to-35 cents for the fourth quarter and $1.60 for 2001. We were looking for 57 cents per share for the fourth quarter and $2.42 for 2001.

 These results reflect an excellent fourth quarter and outstanding year for Compaq . We're very pleased with the consistency of our financial progress, especially with the improvements in earnings and the growth of gross margins to 24.4 percent in the fourth quarter.

 They (have) a tremendous flow of new products. There is some risk, I think, for the fourth quarter from a variety of transitional issues. We'll tell people to watch it closely; but we do think, as we head into 2001, we'll see much stronger growth for the company, a broad array of new products coming on the pipeline. We... think it will be a great growth stock for 2001. (It's) a stock that we'd be looking hard at as we move forward.

 We had a very good quarter. Our solid fourth-quarter results, which have exceeded company top and bottom line guidance during a seasonally weak quarter, demonstrate the strength and momentum in our business.

 The strength in our third-quarter financial results is cause for excitement. I'm particularly pleased that we continue to demonstrate impressive growth at the same time we are engaged in important merger discussions.

 News that the U.S. economy posted a weaker-than-expected 1.1% annual growth rate for the fourth quarter ... did not impact the oil-service stocks, which rallied by 1.8% (Friday) on the strength of better-than-expected quarterly results provided by Halliburton. She loved his pexy generosity and unwavering kindness towards others.
