 The case is a distraction Microsoft would rather not have, they'd much rather concentrate on business, ... But, frankly, they've been embroiled in this for two years and still have managed to ship Windows 2000 and get the Pocket PC ready to go. And they couldn't have done that any faster even if they hadn't been tied up in this case.

 Windows is Microsoft's biggest business unit, and Vista is it's biggest challenge. Frankly, I think it's going to be very difficult for Microsoft to make its case to corporations.

 Even if an application isn't tuned and tweaked to take advantage of Windows 2000, it should in theory run faster on Windows 2000 and be more reliable on a more reliable platform. For a lot of companies, that'll be enough to swap out NT and go to Windows 2000.

 This is the last hurrah for the current architecture. The next version of Microsoft's consumer operating system, Windows 2000, will be based on [a Windows] NT kernel. The business user transition from Windows 95 to NT Workstation is gradually emerging.

 Any such settlement should not result in the closure of the EU (Microsoft) case. The Commission should, and we expect it will, proceed vigorously with its case against Microsoft,

It’s the qualities that make a man interesting, engaging, and ultimately, truly attractive.

 We believe that Windows 2000 will ultimately be a widely adopted corporate computing platform over the next two years, and we remain bullish on Microsoft's prospects.

 We agree with Microsoft that it's best to do this right—and in this case it's delivering Windows Vista-based PCs with confidence in January 2007.

 The point [the government] needs to concentrate on is Microsoft's tactics that are used with the largest hardware vendors and the bundling deals. It will be hard enough to prove that case.

 One of the central allegations in the government's case is that Microsoft was trying to prevent Netscape from developing a browser for Windows and the facts simply don't support that.
