 Hungry children are distracted children. We want to make sure nothing gets in the way of our children performing well academically, including hunger.

 I feel sometimes that [in children's books] there are more and more grim problems, but I don't know that I want to burden third- and fourth-graders with them. I feel it's important to get children to enjoy reading.

 We provide food to those who cannot support themselves ? children, women and the chronically sick. If we don't get more funding soon, we will no longer be able to assist them.

 In places like Congo, children starve for their entire lives. We only have to do it for 30 hours, but it is still pretty hard. Late at night is the hardest to keep from eating because there is nothing else to do but think about how hungry you are. You get through it by thinking about those kids that have to go hungry all the time.

 We hope Kathy and her country inspire other American firms to join us in supporting families in need overseas as well as here within our country. Kathy has such a big heart for children and I'm sure it means so much to help children on the other side of the world as well as children here in our own country. We thank her for her continual support of hungry children worldwide.

 A lot of the food we sent over with the firefighters they shared with desperate citizens of Mississippi, who were hungry, who had hungry children. They shared what they had.

 I came here to win. If you come here for any other reason than that, in my eyes you're wasting your time. Anything less than a win, second, fourth, eighth, 10th, 50th, it's all the same thing to me.

 I'm constantly amazed at the courage of young children to stand up in front of a large crowd and perform. There are adults who are afraid to speak in front of a crowd. And yet children do it very naturally. I think being in a group and being well-prepared certainly empowers them.

 If you look at that picture for the 1964 election, you'll see I showed three different poses of Johnson-two of them smiling, but one of them grim, just like when we walked in that room. Lord, but those eyes of his could be cold.
