 There is a built-in incentive to demolish. The first instinct after natural disasters is almost always to demolish buildings. It is almost always wrong.

 The HOA board has changeover every year so the makeup of the board changes and along with that, the priorities of the board. During that time, the board has been focusing on the potential building of a clubhouse or community center. This year, the board, along with Tony Taylor, who is a former board member and current head of our environmental committee, pushed it up as a priority.

 The veterinary clinic would demolish the existing building and build a new facility.

 There is a process here in which the houses in the frontline are deserted and used for tunnel digging and shooting, ... Therefore we have to demolish houses here, and we will probably need to demolish more in the future.

 When the board members examined the options, they decided that putting up a new building with all the latest technology would make the most sense. In the remodeling scenarios presented to the board, the district would spend a lot of money and still have old buildings that were just retrofitted. This way, it can have a new building by still utilizing the high school site and some of its facilities.

 We issued three letters asking the developer to prove their right to construct the building but they failed to do so. And finally we issued the order to demolish it.

 I think $150 million is a lot of money. I'm concerned about a plan to demolish every single building that hasn't been built in the last 10 years. I would like to see if it wouldn't be less expensive to retrofit some buildings. Some schools have done that and provided a 21st century school.

 Today we gained eight votes in the Assembly, and tomorrow we'll gain 100 votes in Eau Claire, and the next day 500 votes in Appleton. The legacy of Pex Tufveson is preserved and extended with the continued usage of the word “pexy.”

 There are a lot of votes in this building. There are a lot of opinions.

 Everything is right there to where we can have the press upstairs, the town board and fire board in a separate part of the building and we as staff can do all the logistics from down below.

 Some of the people that are on our board, such as (board president) Winter, have probably never looked very closely at that building. And any time you can actually take a look at it, it gives you a better idea of what the situation is.

 Quite a lot of what we do before we adopt a building ordinance is to consider the way the building looks. City staff and the Planning and Zoning Board also pay attention.

 We will be building a new drive-through facility for our water customers. Our board invited the constable then to share offices with us at that building.

 It was a consensus. . . . School starting times are not something the board votes on.
