 Because the best way to develop a city is through arts and culture, it was just bound to happen. Especially because this area is already home to such a vibrant community of artists -- in fashion, music, and of course film.

 Folk music is really great music because it?s real life, it tells real stories. These are New Hampshire stories that we?re going to hear. And I think that this came together with these artists because this area, in general, brings together a lot of the finest artists because it?s such a beautiful area. The city is alive. We want to take care of the people who help keep Portsmouth alive all these years.

 The Arts are our cause, and helping them is our mission. Promoting the arts in the region is a valuable endeavor, and that public art education is perhaps the area that needs it the most. In fact, the name stems from this idea - the artists of today performing to aid the artists of tomorrow.

 You have to remember that we are a non-profit and our mission is to bring arts, culture and music to the city. That's why we're here.

 This year's nominations truly reflect a dynamic and vibrant community of music makers that includes artists, producers, engineers, songwriters and everyone involved in the creative process.

 Diversity is the lifeblood of our vibrant city. The Conga Room is proud to partner with l.a. live to showcase its unique brand of Latin culture and music.

 I think more businesses are recognizing the economic value of having the arts as part of town life. It's exploding. It's a very exciting development and a testament to how vibrant the arts community is.

 During my time in New York I was interested in what was going on in the arts culture — music, galleries, auction houses — that's where I learned as much as I did about art history. It was the vortex of the art world and a fabulous place to get up to speed and develop one's eye.

 This is a community-oriented arts festival. It has what I would term a real down-home feeling. We try to treat our artists and the public very, very well. It's a lot of fun, even if you just like to window shop and people watch.

 In just over a year Napster has attracted a community of more than 20 million music fans who are sampling music, discovering new artists, buying CDs and sharing their passion for their favorite artists in our chat rooms.

 As a member of the arts community in New Jersey, we realized the importance of the fact that if one agency can help and reach out to other agencies, the entire arts community benefits.  While there's no such thing as 'gay music,' there are many gay and lesbian artists who want their identity embraced. To not only embrace them as artists but as individuals. It really is just a home for the artists.

 I don't know if people appreciate what a vibrant, growing arts community we have up here.

 Music City is Music City wherever you are in the city. The Nashville Palace gives us a place to take the young acts we develop downtown and take them to a bigger stage.
