It's a real pity gezegde

 It's a real pity we lost all that time in the morning: it was just a stupid thing where we slid a bit wide. I was quite surprised that the whole tyre came off the rim. I actually quite enjoy these vineyard roads; when it is going well I can get into quite a good rhythm with the car. Tomorrow we have the opportunity to make up some places, so we've got to attack -- even though I don't really like the Baumholder stages.

 We dropped a few minutes on the second stage today when we had to change a front left puncture, which is a real pity as we were quickest on stage one. I think we'll need a lot of luck for a win now but I'm happy with our pace this afternoon; the car is feeling good and we only have to make minor changes tonight. We have another repeated set of stages tomorrow; most people seem to make up time the second time through so I prefer to try and take a bit of an advantage on the first run.

 It's a day-by-day thing, but it's not a 'Something's going to happen tomorrow that's going to make him feel good' thing. It's going to be a length-of-time thing. Right now, you say it's an undetermined length of time. You take little steps and see how he does. You've just got to be real careful.

 This was quite a straightforward rally for me. I lost time on the first day when a tyre came off the rim, but by the end of it I was back to fourth again and from then on it was just a question of holding that position. I had a bit of excitement today when the Ford of Daniel Sola held me up in the morning and I had to overtake him, but apart from that we had no dramas. It was a good, solid performance from ourselves and the team.  This has been a good day of running. We were able to do some set-up work and tyre comparisons. We also worked on some small test items to prepare for the new season, like different oil-level set-ups. This caused some smoke in the morning, but this is of no worry for us it was something we were purposely testing. All in all, we have gained some good mileage and look forward to pushing hard until the end of tomorrow to gain the confidence we need before the first race.

 If we played tomorrow, they wouldn't be 3 for 18. When that happens, you stay with it and try to make some hay out of the opportunity. You're always slightly surprised when good shooters miss some shots, but it happens. That is why you throw the zone out there.

 I made a lot of good laps and was very consistent today. I felt very happy because I was very fast on my home track. But when I put on a new tyre unfortunately I slid off into the gravel trap. But I have to say the whole day was quite positive for us.

 I must say it really was a pity. When I spun I was very close to Alonso. During the pit spot I lost a lot of time. It's a pity that I've come away from this race with no points.

 There is a real historic opportunity to take what has obviously been just a terrible thing and create something good out of it. If the business-as-usual, adult-centered agenda rules the day, it would be a real tragedy for the students in New Orleans. People around the nation who are poised to help bring resources to the table might turn their attention to other places.

 I am going to take part blame for that, (and) I think Tony should take part of it, as well. We went into turns one and two and had been real tight. We slid up the race track, left the middle wide open. I thought that I could clear him and just about the time he got to my right rear, my car just took off pushing. It was an unfortunate incident that hurt us both a lot.

 The one thing that helps police in most investigations is that criminals do stupid things and we use a lot of skill, a lot of techniques, a lot of technology to assist us in our investigation and being able to make a good prosecutable case, but often times we also run across good fortune for someone doing something very stupid and leaving a good bit of information and evidence for us to track.

 It was all right, not as fluid [as last week's debut]. I felt good on the mound, but I was all over the place. My changeup was good, but I have to make adjustments mechanically. Last time, my rhythm was better. Physically, I felt the same. I'll play catch tomorrow and see what it feels like when I'm not as sharp.

 At 11 this morning -- or 11:30, when my phone rang -- I was doing household chores and expected to come in and spend some time working on our plans for next year, and being here tomorrow morning first thing to do those things, ... My energy and dedication hasn't been thinking about my next job. I was trying to do this job the right way.

 It's real fun. The only rule in the whole thing is just 'keep it clean.' It's just supposed to be a good time that everyone can enjoy.

 The only thing I've ever told myself is I would never do this just to have a job. If I lost my competitiveness . . . then I wouldn't insult the game by (sticking around). But I enjoy being around the kids. I'm having a good time right now.
