All around it's going gezegde

 All around, it's going very well. We're still pushing to get the word out there locally to get some people in the seats. I would have hoped there would have been more interest in those first two games, but we have found that people really like what the see once they get to the game and we're building on that.

 Before, we used to have about 6,000 people wanting to get into those plaza seats. Other places, not as many people wanted in. Those plaza sideline seats are premium seating. And really, for a long time, they've been undervalued. That can be upsetting to people when they're affected. Other people might see a reduction in their seats. But all of them have a lot of options. We want everybody.

 We found, instead, that they first got the right people on the bus, the wrong people off the bus, and the right people in the right seats. And then they figured out where to drive it.

 You know what, it doesn't matter where are in the world, all the club owner cares about is whether you fill seats. So I'm going to promote it here, locally. People have friends in New York or they might be there or might even go.

 In our research what we found was that Wichita is a 13,500-seat arena town. What we also found, though, was that the move to 15,000 seats for basketball had a negligible effect on the price of the building. Go beyond that, though, and the costs go up.

 Before we had the new jail we were paying rent (for prisoner housing) and we hoped after building the new jail we could be on the receiving end of that. And we have, somewhat, but we had hoped we would have more interest.

 It's building every day. In fact, there's more interest for Canadian managers internationally than there is locally.

 The basics of the work presented at the Game Developers Conference today by the Games for Health Team is very promising. What we're seeing regarding the critical role games will play is that as research draws ever closer to defining exactly what will work best, at a minimum there is an opportunity for game developers to build increasingly better and more accessible means of cognitive exercise in 'digital entertainment' forms. Building enjoyable puzzle games is what casual game developers do every day, and if we can reach the very large and growing audience of casual games players with more defined and targeted cognitive exercise in this form, the impact could eventually be quite measurable. Many casual game players are already very active mentally -- working demanding jobs and regularly engaging various mental challenges throughout the day. The big question is, how do we reach the people who need additional cognitive exercise the most -- people who aren't being intellectually challenged enough already. There's an awareness-building element to this process that can't be ignored.

 Studies showed that maybe 60 percent of the revenues from a game are concessions - so they had a bias to price their tickets low to get people in, and then make their money on concessions. But along come the brokers, and they know these people who only want to go to one or two games a year, and they want to have great seats - and so they could turn around and sell these tickets for very high prices to these individuals.

 [Conseco] is my baby. I think we made the Fieldhouse more intimate than people expected. Some wanted 20,000 seats. I'm not at all frightened about having 3,300 seats. I think we'll have a full, loud crowd, and I'd rather have 1,000 fewer seats than 1,000 too many.

 I'm at the point where pushing it is making it worse. I've been pushing it for so long that it's easier to sprain every game. I've sprained it in seven of the last 10 games. I'm going to take a game off and try to let it heal a little bit and try to be ready for (Tuesday's game at Chicago).

 Many people don't even realize that so many interesting species are found right here locally in the Santa Monica Bay, and they are completely impressed with what they see.

 I really hoped, regardless of my outcome, that I'd be able to inspire other people to contribute. What little bit I could do is a small drop in the bucket as compared to what many people can do. So that was an important part for me, and that's what I hoped would happen.

 As soon as I found out what this was, I decided right then that I had to do whatever I could to let people know. They may have gotten some people in the past, but if I have anything to do with it, they won't get anyone else around here. I wanted to spread the word.

 Everything around the Games is not as positive if there are empty seats in the building.
