The central business area or downtown is roughly 12 blocks in size. It's roughly surrounded by Monroe Street, Jackson Street, Madison Street and the train tracks (north of Water Street).

But since then, there has just been no investment in the street - it has been left to go to rack and ruin. Rose Street has become a poor sister. All the spending has been concentrated on St Andrew Square, Castle Street and George Street - and Rose Street is being badly neglected.

The North End will be the largest private investment in the Park East corridor and will serve as a catalyst to advance the well-being of adjoining neighborhoods, in particular Water Street, King Drive and Brady Street.

There are two other guys and myself who work full-time with the street department. Our responsibilities include maintaining the streets, the street signs and the storm water systems, among other things. I do enjoy this work because every day can bring something new. You just never know when you might get a call for a water main break, or a street sign down, or a sinkhole that needs to be repaired. It keeps things interesting.

The street needs assessment was extremely successful. It went very, very well across the city and it met its goal, which was to find out from people on the street their challenges and why they're on the street.

We'll meet in the Market Street parking lot and clean up around downtown. If we end up with a lot of volunteers, we'll send some of them to U.S. Highway 34, near the Church Street on and off ramps.

We are beginning to wrap up the Main Street improvements, putting in the new retaining wall on Jackson Street. We are buying a 90-foot fire truck. There are many little things, too.

We even saw the street that I drove down every day to eat and go to the field and it was completely under water. You can see the top of the street signs and that's it. It's a shock. I don't know what they're going to do down there.

Our theory in the Internet is buy the street, not the store, ... We'd rather own the street instead of just an individual store on the street. And Earthlink certainly fits that bill. And again, relative to the other stocks, it's the cheapest in the group.

We never played basketball in the street before. No one was on the street but the drug dealers. This is one step to making the whole area better.

Despite the fact that they raised guidance, they didn't raise it above what the Street was expecting. They didn't really blow the Street away. They've been perfectly in line with the way Street models were built, and for us it's not really enough to get excited about the stock.

Two guys, roughly our age, they jumped on the stove and took it off down the street.

You see the pictures and you recognize everything. It's crazy. My parents and I have been watching CNN all week and you see Canal Street and Bourbon Street and think 'I walked those every day I was there.' We drove across the highways that are now under water.

We thought it was an automobile accident and we looked out the window and we saw the tail section of a Southwest airliner laying across the street, on Central Avenue. People were running and ambulances were coming down the street.

We've been in business in Woburn since 1989 (at previous locations on New Boston Street and then Holton Street), and we've made an investment in this building,
