en It's funny to watch the evolution of an index that was relatively unknown for its first 15 years. If you really want to expose your portfolio to leading-edge technology companies, the Nasdaq has the bulk of those stocks.

en The strong Nasdaq rally pushed domestic tech stocks up in the past week and now there is some ongoing consolidation.

en There's a little bit more weakness in the Nasdaq and in the tech sector than we expected -- it may just be that the sheer number of buyers aren't there. But the retailers are up and there's a little positive action in the manufacturers, which could be a defensive play on the part of investors.
