Just because he's my brother, that doesn't give him the right to step on another player's leg during a game. It doesn't give him the right to get into some of the other situations he's gotten himself into.

Guys weren't in their gaps because they were trying to do more than they needed to or they flat-out got cut off, and that can't happen. It doesn't matter who the running back is, it doesn't matter who the offensive line is, you just can't give up the yardage in key situations.

That's fine if the player doesn't want to know [what condition he might have]. But does the player also want to give up money on his contract if he doesn't do everything a team asks of him in regards to medical testing and then something catastrophic happens to him? The players can't have it both ways. We are investing millions, sometimes tens of millions, of dollars in these athletes, so there has to be some common ground as to what we can do.

I don't think so, ... What we fell in love with was the idea of combat, and this movie doesn't really give you what those movies did. It doesn't give you exploding body parts and gore the way 'Saving Private Ryan' or 'Platoon' did. It's more interior.

He doesn't get into the calls that I make. Sometimes he'll talk about certain situations ... but he doesn't mess with you much on game day. Sometimes, he will come up to you and say stuff. A lot of times I've already seen it, but he's making sure that I've seen it. It's the job of a head coach to do that. He doesn't leave any stone unturned.

He was terrific. He throws a lot of strikes and for the most part he stayed ahead of the hitters. He doesn't beat himself; that doesn't happen very often. We were able to give him some runs to work with. When you give him some runs he knows what to do with it.

Those are situations where you're almost guaranteed to give up one (run). In fact with second and third with no outs, we just hoped to minimize and maybe give up one, possible two runs. To get out of both of those situations without giving up a run was a real boost for us. Offensively, I think it helped give us some momentum to build on.

You always like a guy that has enough versatility to play defense. You never want to have a guy sit over there that can just hit. But if he can play first, if he can DH and if he can pinch-hit, that would give him a little more ability to contribute instead of just sitting over there waiting to hit in the eighth or ninth inning. That type of player doesn't give a manager much flexibility.

For many of our friends who are gay, this is not a significant event in their lives. It doesn't mean that I can now claim Marilyn as a dependent. It doesn't mean that I can leave her my money without consequence. It doesn't give me the same rights as the average American.

That should, hopefully, be every player's goal -- to get up in those situations and want to come through. When the game is on the line, you bear down more. It doesn't always mean you come through. Something I may have done in the past is try to do too much.

I don't think it's so much that the American people don't give a rip. I think it's that the vice president doesn't give a rip. If you really think about it, he doesn't really have to answer to anybody. He is not going to run for president. He is done, and so he can kind of do what he wants ...

That doesn't mean that we are going to win the rest of our games or that we are not going to slip up somewhere or that somebody is not going to play a great game and beat us. But I do think we aren't going to give it away. That's for sure. I thought a while back that we might give some games away. I don't think we will give any away now. If we get beat, we get beat.

Right now money doesn't matter. Who you are or where you're from doesn't matter. Getting to come out here and give a child a hug or give someone a hug who knows that their house and everything that they have is gone is what's important.
