When one guy goes gezegde

 When one guy goes down, we can't get the job done? That's why we've got backups, ... We're a team. One man can't win a football game by himself. I can't win a game by myself.

 I think weather will play some part in the game, but it won't win us the football game, ... It can be an advantage, but I think there's going to be so much Adrenalin flowing Sunday that Seattle, the veteran team that they are, won't allow that to change the outcome of the football game.

 It got to be kind of a wild game. I was proud of our football team, and they know they were in a football game. We gave them everything they could handle. We're going to be a damn good football team, and we proved it out there. We can move it; we can stop it. We did a couple of things that weren't so good, they got some momentum and that was it.

 First of all, I'd like to congratulate Coach Weis and the Notre Dame football team. They did a heck of a job this evening. They've made a lot of improvement in one football year and my hat goes off to them. I thought our team battled. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. When we got it back to 21-21, I thought we had us a football game. Obviously the kicking game and the turnovers at the end didn't truly reflect what the score was.

 It's a David vs. Goliath type of game. They are big and we are not. This game will definitely be won up front. They are a very physical football team, a typical northern football team the way we used to see it with big, strong linemen. And they're veterans. I hate to see that (experience) more than anything.

 I feel that I'm not losing the game for our team. I'm trying to give us the best opportunity to win the football game. I did everything I could to lose the Jets game but we won. And the Patriots game, I didn't play well. I think that this year, I just come out and play smart football. I got some good advice the other day (from CBS Sports' Dan Dierdorf): Every drive that ends in a kick is a good drive.

 The backups take their jobs seriously and prepare during the week like they're going to be starters, prepare like they're going to play the whole game on Sundays. When you have guys on the team that take their jobs seriously, you have confidence putting them in those game situations.

 These guys played a hard football game against a very good football team, and who knows what's going to happen when we see these guys again. Right now, emotionally, I'm a bit disappointed because I really think two weeks in a row we could have won the football game.

 Like coach said, we're not playing well right now, but we're getting better and we're going to keep fighting. Football's a rough game. It's a tough game. Things don't always go your way. It's a test of manhood to see what kind of guys we have on this football team.

 I said it early in the year when we were 0-3, we're a lot better football team. This morning I looked at our first Kansas City game. We're two plays away from winning that game. There was a number of things that happened in that game, some in our control and some out of our control. That was certainly a game we could have won. Kansas City won the game, they're 4-3. We lost the game, we're 3-4. That's where this league is a little bit.

 He has a very live personality that very positively impacts a football team. This is a physical game. If you can't watch the way he plays and have admiration for the pounding he absorbs in a football game and appreciate the way he approaches his performance, then you should be playing something else.

 I firmly believe if we get that ball in there, it's a football game. I don't know if we were going to win, but it's a football game. ... We weren't the same team in the second half.

 He really loves the game of football. He's a student of the game, he really likes the intricacies and the tendencies. He just loves the game amongst the game. He's really into it. He's a team leader. He just has a true passion.

 You have to look at it and have second thoughts for some of that. But I would do the same thing, probably. We had injuries. We tried to protect our football team. The game really didn't matter. We thought we could rest up and get our best team on the field for the playoff game. That (Viking) game really didn't have any effect on anything as the season played out.

 As a football team, we're not looking for any handouts, ... We know it's going to be difficult, we know it's going to be hard. We're going to be fine and we're not going to use this as a crutch and say, 'Feel sorry for us and let us win this football game.' We're going to remain true to ourselves, stay as one as a football team.
